I have a copy of my birth certificate which spells my mums name as Boldwin, however I have found my adoptive father and my mothers marriage on here and it's spelt Baldwin. It's all very confusing.

On the copy of my birth certificate my birth father is spelt Sidney, but I am mindful that this could have also be Sydney.

I'm guessing that Sidney's year of birth would be around 1930, we all come from Essex.

My half brother Michael would be approx 53 now, Sidney is our father.

What did Polly Poppet send you? With so many options I can't figure out how she could narrow it down.

Her maiden name will be on your birth cert.

Problem about the name Sidney is that it can also be spelt Sydney, so that increases the options.

It's possible that its spelt Baldwin, I'm clutching at straws here as the way she pronounces it is with an Essex accent lol

Are you sure your mother's maiden name is Boldwin and not Baldwin?

Hi,
I am trying to find my half brother Michael Smith, our father is/was Sidney Smith. Sidney was a master builder and was from Essex.
My mother is Kathleen, her name back then was Boldwin, I'm not sure if they married although my birth certificate suggests they were.
If anyone has any information I would be chuffed to hear from you
Many thanks
