I found that information too and did'nt quite understand it but somewhere along the line things may become clearer.

I am hoping you are the person I am looking for ???? if so (hope you are ready for this) R. S. M. Johnson was my father. He married my mother in 1943.

Hope this hasn't shocked you too much..

It would be very unlikely that the person you were looking for would reply after 6 minutes

Patchem was just adding the middle initial for Penelope to make it easier to search for her

As far as I can ascertain this is correct. Please note I live on the other side of the world with a time difference of 12 hours. I see from these messages that GMT is used. Also I am very new to this and any help very much appreciated.

Sorry to confuse, yes, I was just saying that it was Penelope J.
As you can imagine, Penelope Johnson is a very common name.

There are 10 births with the same surname/mother's maiden name combination in the North of England from 1948 to 1968.
Do you know if any more of these are from the same parents?

penelope and caroline both have the same parents. Yes all very confusing. Too many people with the same name Ha Ha !!!!

My advice would be to get his death cert, using the info supplied by Jax. There will be name and address of the informant, usually a relative, which will hopefully give you something to work with.
Make sure you order online from GRO - certs cost "9.25, I believe the same no matter where you live.
