I would ask the intermediary service if Judith has been asked if she would like contact.

That sounds very hopeful Helen - fingers crossed for you. Please let us know how it goes!

It's all a mystery but everything is kept confidential. Hopefully eventually I will find out their methods of finding people. But anyway, good news this morning, my sister has been located via another organisation and just waiting for her to get in touch.
Thanks for your interest.

I find the above a little strange. In order to know where she works/volunteers, surely NORCAP would have to trace her in the first place? How on earth would they know this information anyway? I would have thought they would know her name, obviously, and more likely to know where she lives than that she works at a resource centre!
I might be a bit dim, but I do not get it.

PM from Helen - am putting on here so we all know what she has done so far (better to reply on here Helen):

Dear Janet
Thanks for replying. By 'official sources' I mean the National Adoption Register but more importantly have used AAA Norcap, an intermediary service. In their last email to me they let slip that she was connected to a resource centre who very sadly declined to forward a letter from them to Judith. Hence my desperation and hoping someone will be able to help through the Genes website.

Helen, when you say 'official sources', what is it you have tried? For example, are your details on the National Adoption Register?
How would you have any idea where she is employed?

2 years ago I discovered I had a sister who had been adopted shortly after her birth on 31 October 1949 in the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Our birth parents, both deceased, lived in East Finchley at the time.
My search through official channels has not been successful and of course her adopted name is not known to me. Her birth name was Judith Carson and I have been told she is either employed by or a volunteer for a resource centre in East Anglia.
She would now be 62 and I am desperate to find her and would be very grateful if anyone can help me.
