I am hoping to trace the daughter of my late sister Sheila. She was adopted in 1957 in London

Janet, as her name is different now obviously you cannot use usual channels.
I suggest you enter her name onto your tree, and look for it on others too, by using 'search trees' facility above..
You need to put your details on to the National Adoption Register, in case she is looking for her birth family, or does so in the future.
