I am looking for anyone who can tell me anything about my husbands mother . She was born Violet May Hughes on 18 December 1926 in Hampshire. She married 'Bob' Elson in 1948 and 'disappeared around 1953/4. Her surname would probably be different as we haven't been able to find her under Hughes or Elson. Vi suffered from epilepsy. I realise that she is almost certainly dead by now but wonder if anyone knew her, or if she had any subsequent children who would be my half-siblings. Any information would be great.

Have you tried Search Trees on this site?

If you find a possible match you can contact the tree owner to see if you have a connection.


EDIT - you already have their son in your tree and so do other members.

You have a good memory Kingsmill, no replies on it anyway.

Did she have sibling? Maybe they are the way to go.

What happened at the time? Didn't Bob attempt to find her? or did he know and just not say?

I cannot see an obvious birth for her parens.

Maybe you need her own marriage cert to 'Bob' to find out her fathers name and to check initial facts.
