Have you looked in free bmd for possible children?
As the Sanders/James marriage was in West Ham then look for births around that area.

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

Added:
Cannot see James/Battersby marriage.

Added:
Is this Violet's death?
Violet Esther Battersby
Birth Date: 2 Jan 1912
Date of Registration: Feb 1985
Age at Death: 73
Registration district: Redbridge
Inferred County: Essex
Volume: 14
Page: 1839

Added:
Is this the marriage in 1941, not 1911?:
Violet E James
Spouse Surname: Battersby
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1941
Registration district: Ilford
Inferred County: Essex
Volume Number: 4a
Page Number: 1114
Henry G Battersby James Jan-Feb-Mar 1941 Ilford Essex

A possible son of Violet could be a member of genes.

If you find the Ilford birth for Battersby/James, put his name in the search tree boxes above.
