Have you tried "search trees" on this site. It may help if you add "Canada" to your heading
Good luck - liz

When did he emigrate?

Was he married at the time?

There's this Albert Sumner arriving in Sumas, Washington (despite what the transcription states, it was not St. Albans, Vermont). he was a farmer living in Silver Creek, British Columbia. Nearest relative was son Norman Sumner, Silver Creek. Final destination was Sumas.

The family is on the 1911 Canadian census which is free here:
There are 5 children listed.

The births of the children as shown on the census are here:

http://www.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/textual/governmt/vstats/v_events.htm

Also the marriages of the children. Daughter Frances, mis-spelled Francis on the 1911 census had the uncommon middle name of Hypathia so it's definitely her marriage there.

MarieCeleste

Thank you so much for your information. I had found the 1901 and 1911 Canadian census online at automated genealogy.com but you have been able to fill in some additional information for me.
Thanks

You're very welcome Margaret.

Your original post said that you were looking for descendants of Albert Sumner but you already had the 1901 and 1911 so would have known who his children were. It's really useful to us if you mention stuff like that in your original request (lets us know where to start from).

If you're trying to find the children of the children then let us know ......
