im am trying to find who my husband grandparents were. his father is edouard decoster born in anderlecht brussel in 1925 he married a clementina maria albertina van dessel they had four sons and they moved to australia in 1965, anyone with any information on the above decoster would be great ;-) :-)

Does it state on the entry details into Australia? it states they are open access,,,,,,,,see the Australian Archive site.there were other nee Decostas listed also from Belgium.--related?

It may be useful for your to put the names you are researching into the Search Trees box above - there are quite a few members on here who have Decosters and Van Dessels in their tree. Only one son arriving with them

Decoster, Clementina Albertina Maria - Belgian - arrived 6 August 1965 in Sydney aboard FLAVIA
Decoster, Edouard - Belgian - arrived 6 August 1965 in Sydney aboard FLAVIA
Decoster, Edouard - Belgian - arrived 8 August 1965 in Melbourne aboard FLAVIA

Then dated 1969-70, record held in Brisbane:
Decoster, Edouard [Eddy]; wife Clementina; and child Edouard

Did Decoster brother and sister marry Van Dessel brother and sister?

VAN DESSEL Henri born 16 August 1937; Liliane (nee Decoster) born 14 march 1942; Didius born ***1969 - Belgian - travelled per ship MIKL departing Hamburg/Germany on 21 October 1970

There is a D Van Dessel listed in the phone directory in Qld which may well be son Didius. Worth a try!

thankyou everyone for your reply, I have found out who edouard parents were, but i am having no luck in finding anything on clementina decoster nee van dessel she was born 31.10.1928, and i would love to find out who her parents were, if anyone know i would be greatful, thank again

Perhaps if you contact the D Van Dessel above, he may know if Henri & Clementina were siblings...and if he is a relation he is sure to know who his grandparents were.
