Mr Ballinger's name will be on the freebmd record........on the site whose details I gave you on the 26th

But, unless he was born before March 1911, he will not be on any census to which you can get access.

You must purchase the marriage cert, to find out his age, and his father's name. That is your only means of tracking his ancestry

Many thanks to everyone who has replied to my post. I have been to Bermondsey to the \borough History Library and had help to get quite a lot more informarion. Found Rose under Ellen Rv both birth and marriage. Data shows husband as Ballinger but cannot get initials at all. This is important because I cannot source Census etc. Any ideas please?

Thankyou for such an immediate response. This could certainly be my mother Mary's elder sister. Sadly there was estrangement in the family. My mother died at the age of 71 in 1989 and the man, who I thought to be my father, died at the age of 90 in 2006. Unable to access the house following his death I have no letters from the past that might lead to more information.

The reason I am so interested is that I know she had children who may well be still alive and perhaps able to fill in some huge gaps in my past.
I would welcome any other information you may have which could help me.
