Good morning everyone

I should just like to update you on the family book.

A big thank you to Kenneth :-D who has spent time and effort to help me solve this and has found a member who is direct descendant of one of the families mentioned.

I have been in touch and she has emailed me this morning to say that she would love to have it, so I shall be parcelling it up and sending it off to its new home in the very near future.

Thanks to everyone else too for all the suggestions and input
Liz

Hi Kenneth
Thanks for the offer, but Im not researching the names myself as they are nothing to do with my family. I have a book with lots of details and Im trying not to give away too much on purpose as I would like to get it (the book) to a direct descendant to help them with their research.

Hi Flick, I dont have a subscription to Ancestry and find it quite hard to find anything I want on there as it seems to throw up huge amounts of US records. Maybe Im just not using it correctly! I'll have another go when I have time. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Perhaps I should have asked for anyone who thinks they may be a descendant to PM me some info please rather than put it on here? :-)

Have you tried looking for the names in Ancestry trees?

Hi Elizabeth, I am not related to these surnames, but have them in my
research records, in 1855 Poplar London two marriages Becket`s to
Wilkinson`s, Frank or George Walker Becket to Amelia Wilkinson or
Caroline Wilkinson, not certain who married who.
1841 Census Becket`s St James Clerkenwell, Charles 45, Sarah 35,
Rosa 15,Charles 6, George 4, Frank 3, Sarah 0.
1841 Census Wilkinson`s St Mary Islington, Samuel 25, Anna 24,
Ann 6, Amelia 4, Caroline 1, Caroline Thornton 16.
I would willingly help search, census and BDM if had more exact details.

Hi both

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I certainly need something to ascertain that the book is going to someone from one of the families.

I did search the trees a while ago to see if I could find a connection but was unable to find anyone. I suppose that more people may have joined since then so I will have another go if nobody comes forward.

Have you looked in the search trees to see if anyone has these people?

What an interesting find I would ask for proof of family ties before handing over such a treasure

Hi
I really don't know if this is in the right section, but maybe someone can put me right if it isn't.
I have a family book (Fleetwood's Life of Christ) which was found during a house clearance in Worcestershire quite a few years ago. I couldn't bear to throw it, as it has references to 4 families, none of which are mine and I should like to get it to someone who may be researching them.
The surnames are Coleburn (Coalburn), Thornton, Wilkinson & Becket and they appear to be from the London area in the 1800s
If you, or someone you know, think that they may be family, please get in touch with some sort of proof (Christian names or specific dates) as I should like it to go to the correct family if possible
Thanks
