Welcome to the boards Sue.

As Susan posted this thread nearly 3 years ago, she may no longer check for replies.

If you think she may have information that could help you, then click on her name to send her a message. Assuming she has the same registered email address and is able to access it, she will be notified that you are hoping to get in touch.

You can check at any time to see if your PM has been read - look in your 'sent messages' box on GR. An unopened one has an envelope icon next to it.

Good luck

Hi Kath... I am interested in Eric Russell Bell born Bedford but lived on Elswick Road, Newcastle upon Tyne 1911 with his parents. He went on to marry Phyllis Lloyd Elstob in the 1920s. In 1915 my grandmother who was single lived next door (no.70) as a domestic servant on Elswick Road. Eric went to war joining the army Services Corp until 1920. Before ww1 he was a clerk at Spillers. He was nearly 20 when he enlisted. I wondered if they knew each other. My grandmother went on to have my mother in 1916. My mother had to be adopted. She married a Norwegian chap in 1917 who she met working at Vickers. Sue
