You could put a notice in the Evening Gazzette or The Northen Echo both local papers but be careful as they may not want to be found

Good Luck

I'm sure in the past on GR boards I have seen the names and scope of various organisations, and descriptions of what they can or can't do. Can't someone give Kelly some more specific addresses of such specialists? And I'm sure l saw at least once a reference to a GR member who was particularly knowledgeable. Not a personal quest, so I don't remember details.

I was so sure when I suggested elsewhere that Kelly tried this thread thar she would get some helpful suggestions of the methods involved. Like how to get in touch with any adoption contact register for a start.

Hi Kelly

As a birth siblings you are entitled to request information on your two siblings, though the information you will get will be limited, it will be suggested that you put your name on the contact register, as previously advised, your siblings may have already put their details on the contact register, if this is the case you will be informed. The best way to try and gain some information is to contact the after adoption team which is local to where you are residing, go through Social Services if you cannot locate a number, most councils websites have who you need to contact regarding adoptions, they can advise you if they can help or in some cases they have other outside agencies working on their behalf.

I would also always suggest putting their names in your family tree as well as the mother and fathers names, many adopted adults when they start to search are inclined to look for their parent’s details and their own birth name. Just make sure you always keep your contact details up to date where ever you leave messages and on the contact register, I have seen so many people over the years read messages about themselves only to find the contact details are no longer current, I would always advise to keep a note of everywhere you have left messages, the email address you have used and the date you left the message. Only two days ago I had someone contact me who had seen messages about themselves from four years ago but none of the contacts were working.

Best regards
Gillian
