The Doody Manchester connection. My uncle Michael Doody born in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada in 1921. (my Grandparents were out there from Dublin to assist my grandmother's sister - my grandmother Bridget Doody (nee Rowley) Michael and daughter Kathleen born there) they then went on to China were my grandfather was to work. Michael because of a family tragedy ended up in the Christian Brother Home in Dublin (long story). As a young man he was taken in by his uncle Michael Doody 231 Great Clones Street Broughton Salford Manchester. That was in 1929. Michael eventualy joined the British Army and was killed in Rangoon Burma the 22/04/1942. I know there are lots of Doody's from my Dublin line in the Manchester area. I would love to trace and meet them. I was adopted myself (1945) and only last year found my Irish side of the family. At 65 for the first time seeing photographs of my Mother and grandparents. Gifts beyond compare. Next..the holy grail my Italian Father a POW in a Birmingham camp near Witton Birmingham. But if you are a Doody relative please ghet in touch.
