Find Living Relatives

Thank you to everyone who responded to this thread with offers of help. I now consider the thread closed. I have made contact with Geoff's niece in Canada, which would have more difficult without the tips received here. Thanks!

OK, his sister's name was Mary J Fleetwood. There is a Mary who sent him mail from Canada, so it is presumably her. There is no record of her having married in the UK. We will have to try Canadian genealogy websites. We have no idea what her married name was!

Flick and Liz, thanks very much for the hints – appreciated. We are relatives on his wife Greta's side – they had no children. I think the key is to find out his sister's name (we didn't know he had a sister) and see if she had children. I will try out some of the suggestions and report back if any luck!

Thanks for the hints, Flick and Madmeg. I don't know whether he was in the army as late as 1952. I am also not sure how to go about finding his sister on the Genes Reunited site, given that the Census records available are before he was born.
