Hi
I do use freebmd, a lot easier than when we had to wade through those great books in London! Any way thanks to you all I think I may have Ernest Frank's marriage, the one to Ingle in Huntingdon as I checked with freebmd and the lady's name is Annette. My father told me that his uncle Frank's (that was how he was known) wife was called Nettie, so this sounds a possibility which I will persue. The department store Grants of Croydon attracted girls from all over the country to work in their store, as one of Ernest Franks brothers married a Grants girl, I am wondering if Ernest Frank did as well. I may be able to find out in the Croydon local studies library.
Your help is much appreciated this is the first lead I have got in nearly 40 years of research.
Best wishes
Gabrielle

I had a pm from Gabrielle earlier - she has contacted people from trees on this site but is no further forward unfortunately.

Glad you had an apology Flick - I wonder if trainees are manning the RR facility sometimes... :-S

To find links........look in search trees.

It's unlikely that anyone connected will just happen to see your thread

Your other option is to do the research........on freebmd.

After much to-ing and fro-ing, I have received from GR an apology for having deleted my perfectly acceptable post, and an assurance that they will, in future, ensure that they 'look carefully' at posts before deleting them!!

Hi
Thanks for all suggestions and information I will follow them up. I promised my father I would try and find his relations as he had lost touch with them and managed to find most before he died. I would like to trace the descendants of the rest of them to complete the picture. I have quite a lot of information on our branch of the Churchill family and have made contact with some of the more distant relations but this branch I have drawn many blanks. I will now investigate these leads. Thank you.

If anyone has links to the Churchills who can be traced to james Churchell and Sarah Braby in late 1700s early 1800s I would be pleased to here from them.

Heaven only knows..............the latest info was a 1941 marriage.....and there were no details that could possibly infringe anyone's rights.

There's a epidemic of this stupidity at the moment..............

Hello Gabrielle and welcome to the Community boards.

It may be worth putting the names you are researching into the Search Trees box above to see if anyone on here has them in their tree. If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner.

I am looking for descendants of my grandfathers brothers, particularly one brother and his family who moved to Carlise probably in the 1930s. My grandfather was Henry Churchill born in Croydon Surrey in 1880. His parents were George and Eliza Churchill who were cousins, and his siblings were Ethel b 1878, Lilian b1879, Edith b1882, George Bertram b1887 and Ernest Frank b1889. I am interested in finding any descendants of Ernest Frank who was known as Uncle Frank by Henry's children Doris May and Arthur Ronald. I have a letter from Uncle Frank sent to Arthur at the time of his marriage in 1939 and as far as I can trace that is the last contact we had with the family. Arthur said that he lost contact with a lot of his famly during the war and after his father's death in 1942.
