i have my fathers army number, been in touch with army records in glasgow ,no joy must have death certificate,as i never met him,i dont know if hes dead or not nothing on wedding certificate to say where he was born,do i get any james anderson death cert and send that in ,any suggestions thanks.merry christmas to all phill anderson

...there's one heck of a lot of James Anderson birth records ~ it would help Philip, if you know his birth year, who he married on this marriage certificate, if he had a middle name, fathers name (also on marriage certificate)....etc etc

Does the Wedding Cert show your father's army Corps/Regiment/Unit?

My father's Regiment was shown on my FULL Birth Cert so you might need your FULL birth cert to find out.

Once you know wots wot you could try finding out about him by searching for him on relevant ex mil sites.

He might be reg'd with FRU or/and FB - have you searched those sites?

i have my fathers army number where he was stationed, regiment and his fathers name[william]have a list of the births of james anderson born 1920cross referenced them to a list of all the women who married a william anderson[1912 on] 6 possible women at the moment.my father james was married cosby parish church april 1943,as was another james anderson 1947[no relation] cant get army records as i need death certificate,happy new year phill
