Hello again,
THanks for the assistance and hopefully something comes up...
I have also possibly found a long lost cousin due to seeing the address in the Probate file. Waiting for a response.
Cheers,
Emma

Hello again,
I have some excellent news (but will still need help in searching for things if possible).
Received the Probate files for Margaret and Derrick which have only recently been made available.

Jennifer's middle name was changed to Margaret and Robert's middle name was changed to Lewis!!
Is anyone able to search for the new names for me?
Cheers, Emma

Ohhh good luck with the FB source, hopefully it will pan out for you.

Okay so looking at the cemetery records, it appears that Derrick's cremated remains were collected, and it would seem that either Margaret's have been moved to a difering place withing the cemetery or removed completely (generally when that cemetery has a contact administration message, it means that the original site of interrment has been moved..possibly because the tenure period has been exceeded. The family is usually contacted to request payment be made for ongoing residence or removal to another site).

Fingers crossed for you, let us know how you get on!

Cheers

Hi AmazingGrace,
Thanks for all your help.
I heard back from the Library as mentioned above but they can't help because it is too broad a subject.
Since writing my last entry above, I have managed to request 2 death certificates from VIC (Derrick and Margaret) as they are now in the open period. Not sure what else they will tell me. Margaret and Derrick were both cremated and are somewhere at Springvale Botanical Cemtery (Necropolis) in Victoria. I have contacted teh cemetery.
I have also contacted a Jennifer Hancock on Facebook who I am pretty sure is it. The facial features look very similar to the teenager photos I have. Just waiting to hear back.
Cross fingers that something becomes of all this hunting!
Cheers,
Emma

Hi Emma,

Unfortunately both are common surnames and as such there are multiple entries in the public telephone listings. If they have a private number, they won't be listed at all.

I'll have a look if there is anywhere else to search but it may be a bit hard given you are looking for recent information,

Does the obituary list where Maragret is buried? They may give me a clue where to look further

Cheers

Hi Everyone,
I have an update on this entry!!
I found some information on an online Obituary site for Margaret/Mardi Cusack Gellion Osmond (person listed above) and it lists the following:
1. Loving wife of Derrick (dec)
2 Mother to Jenny (Hancock) and Robert
3. Mother in Law of Trevor
4. Gran to James and CHristopher

The Ancestry.com electoral rolls only go to 1980. Is anyone able to look up Jenny/Jennifer Hancock and perhaps Trevor aswell (if details available after 1980 of course)? Not sure of the specific area, but I'm gathering it would still be Melbourne/VIC.

Regards,
Emma

Hi,
Year of birth is correct and most info I have has been received from family members (Robert and Jennifer are actually from a family of 11 children but not the Osmond family). They are actually adopted by the Osmonds when youngsters and I am in contact with a Osmond family member overseas, but they don't know many details.
Joys of family history!!
Cheers

Hi Emma,

I had a look but for the people named Jennifer Ann they resided with what would appear to be a husband and family so most likely not yours. The same with Robert.

So it would appear that there may be a couple of possibilities.

1, The year of birth you have for both of 1953 may be incorrect. Do you know where you got this from?

2, Jennifer may have may have married young and changed her name

3, They may not have enrolled on the electoral rolls in time for the 1973 or 1980 elections

4, The names may possibly not be correct? Can you advise what source you used for them?

Let me know what you think and I will keep hunting for you!

Cheers

Hi AmazingGrace08,
This is them listed above. Many thanks for the info.
Was there any mention of Jennifer or Robert? I thought they would have started voting around 1971.
Cheers,

Hi Emma ... try the 'National Library of Aus' (Canberra) ...on-line ...it has an 'Ask a Librarian ' service...they will check electoral rolls -past & present.
(They should at least be able to find Robert Ronald Osmond).

Hi,
I am looking for Jennifer Ann and Robert Ronald Osmond.
They were born 1953.
They lived in Victoria when they were younger but not sure if still there (outer Melbourne suburbs I think you would call it-I have some address but cant release them on here) .
Their parents were Derrick and Margaret/Mardi.
I have a few other details and photos.
Regards,
Emma
