Hi All.
I was asked to find if there were any family in Scotland and to were the family had lived. I knew nothing more than what I posted. Until last night . What I have found is posted below.
One thing I have found out but dont know how to find out where it was. Is this.
They family had a lollyshop. There made all there one lollies. I think its how Roberts mother Ann earned her money after her hubby died in 1886
One of Hugh's grandaughter is going to be in Britian. And wanted to find family. Also to see where her family had lived in Scotland.
I have found them in 41, 47 and 53 harmony row in Govan, Glasgow. Also in 1204 Govan Road.Thats from cenus records.
Robert was born the 28 April 1880 in Govan.
His father James died 30 Dec 1886. His parents were Robert. and Janet. His father was dead when James died.
But his mother was alive
.I know that Robert, and his wife and son, his brother James and sister Jeanie all came to NZ.
But the other 2 William and Janet stayed in scotland . The infor the family had was not all correct.
They believed there were 7 kids. But looks like only 5.
This all started as the girl looked in the Glasgow phone booking . Thinking it would be easy to find her family as there are not many 'McCrorie'. Got a shock at how many there was...

They are a couple of possibilities for Robert in the same area and born around the same time.

Can you give more details from the marriage certificate please? The marriage certificate will have the addresses of the bride and groom, their occupations, their ages and the names of the parents including the mothers' maiden surnames. It will also give the occupations of the fathers and say if any of the parents were deceased. The names and addresses of the witnesses may also be helpful.

I'm doing this for a freind. His grandparents were Robert and Isabella McCrorie.They were marrriaged in 1907 in Blythwoods Glasgow. Isabella maiden name was Isabella Hender Robertson.
Thier son was Hugh Miller McCrorie, born 1907
They came to New Zealand in about 1925 or 26 .
2 of Robert's brother also came to NZ.
I beleive that Robert was one of 7.
I'm looking for any family member in Scotland . As Hugh's granddaughter is travelling to Britian soon.
