Trying to find half sister

Yes I am from a later marriage. I did not find out that I had a 1/2 sister until a few years ago as my father never talked about it. I only knew some vague details from my mother. Thanks for your help anyway

Hi Linda

Would you be the child from a later marriage ? I think the best thing to do
would be send her a friend request, maybe say in the message would her parents be Frank and Annie Pennell ?
It could be she is already aware of your existence, and given that your name will show up as Stanley also she may put 2 and 2 together.
If you do want to try and establish contact with her you will have to contact her and ask her this at some point, just do it in a sensitive way :-)

Hi Flowerpot

No I checked on FR and her mother passed away. I am finding it a bit overwhelming to be honest. Havn't got any other brothers or sisters so would really like to get in touch when I pluck up the courage.

Yes you were right. I have not had chance to reply to my e-mails as have been working away for last 2 days. I am not as ignorant as you are making out!!!
Thank you very much to Flowerpot for taking the time to look for my 1/2 sister. Unfortunately my Father has recently passed away and so I could not get any further information from him, so this has been a great find. Thank you. I just need to decide how to approach the situation now, as I am not sure she knows I even exist!

Thanks again

Give her a break Flowerpot2...

She may not have opened her pm, it could have been someone else in her family if she has left her PC open...

If anyone is on my PC and pulls up my bookmarks they can automatically get onto the GR boards and are automatically in there in my name .. I do not have to enter a password each time, nor do 100s of others on this site... same with my facebook or anything else I have bookmarked.

On the other hand she could be so overwhelmed with the quick response etc and has not come back to earth yet.

Maybe her Blackberry has marked her emails as read and she has not been able to get to a computer yet to reply? Not that I know anything about Blackberrys but I have been given that as a reason for a late reply

No wonder people do not like asking for help

?????

If she knows where to read the email ............she knows where to reply

Even if she thinks it is GR that have found her, thanks are still in order

Within 7 hours of posting we find her half-sister !!!!

This was Linda's first post plus she has only just joined the site, please give her a chance to get the hang of it.

Linda has not replied to my pm either, maybe she thinks GR have sent it to her so she does not need to reply?

If you are that bothered send her another message asking if the info was any good

No wonder people do not like asking for help

I just noticed that she didn't say please in her original post so I very much doubt that a thank you was ever going to happen!!

If I was in her shoes and received the information you sent to her I couldn't say thank you enough!

In this modern day and age all you have to do is click on Reply and send a message of thanks - doesn't take long.

I am trying to trace my half sister. My father was Frank stanley and he lived in Walsall. My half sister would have been born in the fifies and I think he was married to a lady whos surname was Pennell.
