His birth is also registered under Double.

Are you sure about his parents' names?

Not seeing a marriage for his parents or for a Barbara Clayton to a Double.

Only Double/Clayton marriage is this one:

Marriages Jun 1923
Clayton Ellen Double Richmond S 2a 1098
Double George R E Clayton Richmond S. 2a 1098

and they had a child called Barbara. You appear to have all their children in your tree on this site.

Dual registration usually indicates that the parents were not married

Just wondering whether the marriage record is slightly wrong (groom's second initial)

Registration district: Wandsworth
Inferred County: London
Volume: 5e

Can't see a likely death for Ellen (as per marriage)

Thanks for your replies. I have his birth certificate on which his father is Henry George Trickey and his mother - Barbara Eleanor Double (nee clayton). Barbara Double was Henry`s housekeeper and not married to him. I suspect that Robert has either been well hidden or that he was adopted.

Thanks again

Jeanette

Jeanette,

You didn't say if you kenw Anita or not?

It seems as thought Barbara/Ellen/Eleanor was a bit misleading with her name. She has to be the Ellen Clayton who married George Double.

If you have the address, have you looked on the electoral register to see who was at that address that year?

Hi Rose,

Yes, I have been in touch with Anita and she knows no more than me. Where can I find the UK electoral rolls - I`m in Australia.
