The parents of Richard and Glenys are Joan Barrett and Herbert William Paul, both were school teacher in Victoria, Australia.

Joan was my dads cousin, she was born in Maidstone, England and she had a brother John Herbert Barrett. Joan's husband Herbert Paul was born in Sale, Victoria.

I would love to make contact with this side of my family.

I hope this helps to find you both!

Dates, even approximate, would be a great help to narrow it down.

Have you tried Search Tress on this site?

There are other members who have Herbert Paul, Sale, Victoria, in their trees.

You could contact them to see if you have a connection.

This marriage notice from NLA Trove states Joan's parents were in Melbourne too - is that the info you have?

The Argus, Wednesday 29 May 1940
The wedding was celebrated quietly on Saturday at Holy Trinity, East Melbourne, of Joan Irene Barrett, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. G. Barrett of Sherwood Lodge, East Melbourne, and Herbert William Paul, only son of late Mr and Mrs A. Paul of Box Hill.

Thank you all for your help. I have sent messages via this site to people who have the names in their trees.

Richard Paul was born 1949 and Glynis Paul was born 1951 both Prahran, Victoria, Australia.

I have all the dates for Herbert Barrett & Mable Baldwin.

I have birth & marriage dates for Joan Irene Barrett born Oct 1914 & Herbert William Paul Oct 1911, but not when and where they both died.

I only know about Richard & Glynis as they were found on a shipping record when the family went on a trip to England for 3 months in 1960.

Thanks again for all the help.

Dear Trish,

I don't know if this is any help, but I had a Mr.Paul in Grade 4 as my teacher at Portland Primary school in the western district of Victoria. The names Glenys and Richard ring a bell. This family was there for a few years. It would have been in 1959.

Best wishes, Margot.

Thanks for the inofrmation Margot. The teacher would have been Herbert Paul as they were living in Portland in 1958!

thank you.
