I have found a Hugh living in Doncaster Street on the 1911 census..

Please can you give some more details.

Scotlands people website is where you should look for info, including 1911 Scotland census

It is NOT a subscription site.............viewing records requires the purchase of credits

Once you find the names of this person's parents, it may be possble to find info about them on censuses on Ancestry, for which countless GR members have subs, and are willing to do lookups

Don't forget to look on here in 'search trees' to find whether anyone else on the site is researching your line(s)

My maternal relatives are all Scottish from what I have discovered so far; my grandmother was born in Oran Street, Kelvin area of Glasgow in the early 1900's. She moved to the North East of England when aged about 16yrs where she became pregnant with twin girls (one of which is my mother). I believe that her identical sister (Ellen or Helen) is now dead - sadly, they had been parted at birth and never met. My mother is now 92 and failing fast. I have discovered that my ancestors names are McNeilly, McKay, McLeod and McArthur. My grandmother had an older brother named Hugh who was born in Doncaster Street and will likely not be alive today. Any help would be really fantastic.
