Searching for any information about Lily Rawson born in 1930 (possibly in Nottingham) emigrated to New Zealand in 1952. I believe she was a tailoress and had been living in Birmingham in the late 1940's.

Any help or guidance as to where to search in New Zealand much appreciated

Hi Debra .... the 'National Library of NZ' (on-line) has an 'Ask Us' librarian service ...they will check their records including electoral rolls and newspaper death notices.

Hi Debra,

I can't locate anything for her in the New Zealand electoral rolls at all, which may mean that perhaps she married.

The following link will allow you to search for newspaper articles etc yourself:

Best of luck with your search :-)

Thank you both for your help. I will get on to that today.

Debra

Lily Rawson got married in 1953, so she would not be on the Electoral rolls with the surname Rawson.... They divorced in 1969.

Gracie Papers Past would probably be too old for anything on her.

I can check out whether she married again etc on the microfiche at the library in the city, not something that the Librarians spend time on as it does take awhile.
