Have you tried Search Trees on this site?

There are quite a few William Mather(s) born 1937, +/- 5 years.

You could try contacting tree owners to see if you have a connection.

Hello Jenny,

If you google Rescue Brinksway, you will see quite a few articles by a chap called Brinksway Boy. He too, was rescued from the Mersey at the same place. I just wondered if he could help in your search or have some advice for you.

Hi Rose, yes it's Stockport and it seems as though Brinksway was a place where people regularly fell in the Mersey. Looks rather dangerous on the photos. Cx.
