How nice to try and re-unite a piece of family memorabilia.

You've probably assumed that it turned up in the shop as part of a house clearance, unwanted by the next of kin. Although its understandable to try and set a 'security question' it is unlikely that a more distant family member will know the answer.

However............does the testimonial give any indication of Dorothy's age at the time? You could try 'searching trees' on this site and contacting anyone who has that name/rough y.o.b with her being born in the general Maldon area.

If you are unable to do so your self, we may be able to find a suggestion for her birth reg, and any other possible siblings. That would give you other lines to follow.

In a charity shop in the Town of Maldon Essex, we found an old Bible, originaly presented to Dorothy in 1932, inside was a glowing testimonial to her. Can you name the school, and claim her as a relative?

We hope so
