Just a thought....

If you think he was adopted locallly, keep an eye out for 50th birthday annoucements in the local newspapers.

You could even post something yourself to see if anyone knows someone turning 50 on that date.

Thanks, Rose. I did try adding to the tree yesterday, but when I saved it said that it couldn't connect to the site. I'll try again.

Joanna,

It might help to add his name and his siblings to your tree. Also his parents. Someone might spot them.

Who is Jan?

He was definitely born in '61, but thank you anyway.

Taken in by Beech Mount children's home in Bowdon, his biological family haven't seen him since his parents gave him away. He was born on the 10th of October, 1961, at St. Mary's. Anthony Victor Sheldon's parents also went by the name of Winkley. He has two sisters (Annette and Christine) who would love to find their long lost brother. The two sisters were also separated at a young age, but managed to find each other in 2005 after their older brother found a note left by Christine at their mother's grave in Rhyl, Wales.

I'm posting on behalf of my mum, who is one of Anthony's sisters (Annette).

If anyone has any possibly useful information, please get in touch.
