Attila Desics - Are you in Dover?

Are there any members in Dover who may have come across my long lost half brother Attila Imre Desics. I've been trying to trace him for a couple of years. He was born in Todmorden on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border on 31/12/1958.

The only registered listing I can find is that of his birth. There are no listings for children or a marriage, or a death for that matter. One particular search indicated an electoral roll listing in Dover, but the information was very basic with only a partial postcode of CT16.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated...

Thanks

Andy.

Thanks Jonesy... Imre Desics is my father who died in April this year. Ann is my step mum and Andrew J is my other half brother...

He is listed there, but you need to pay to view (£5.95) You mentioned on the other thread that this is where you found him. Have you paid to view the record?

Dover Library may be willing to make an ER search for the current year by address and see if he is still there. They may make a charge. If they don't hold the full ER, they ought to be able to point you in the right direction.

A cheaper site you could use is

Thanks for those links...

Up to now I haven't paid to view as having subscribed to other searches in the past I was always left disappointed, but I might chance my arm with this one...

Well to further confound it I paid my subscription and surprise surprise no listing...!!!!

I suspect he is not registered or perhaps left the UK as there is no death record to be found.

If anyone can offer any suggestions, I'd be very grateful.

Have you got the cert of his mother's 2nd marriage as suggested in the other thread? Not a good idea to start a new thread as people end up going over old ground.

Hi Jax

The record I subscribed to is for current listings and he doesn't appear.

However, someone has been kind enough to find he was listed up to 2003 and I now have an address. It just seems strange that he drops off the radar the same year his step dad died.

I've ordered death certificates in the hope of getting an address of the informant. My only worry is that if the informant is my older half brother and the address is the 2003 Dover address, then that line of enquiry might be closed off. I'm hoping the informant was another family member of his step dad who I can trace.

He appeared to live over a shop and on Google Streetview you can see a number, which I might ring, assuming the business is still going.

Thanks everyone for your interest and help.

Why not write to the address you have. The present residents may be able to help you

Right people...

The 'good' news is it looks like I've found Attila at the Dover address, but I'm making contact through an intermediary. The ball is as they say in his court now, so only time will tell if he wants reuniting with 3 brothers and a sister, but I'll let you all know if we have a positive outcome.

Thanks very much to those that have followed and special thanks to Kay and Brummiejan xx
