Is it possible she remarried and her name changed from Starr? There's only one Henrietta Gilks birth registration since 1916, so there can be little doubt the marriage to a William V Starr is her. William V Starr died in Birmingham in October 1993, so it would be worth getting a copy of the death certificate to see who the informant was.

The possible divorce & remarriage (unless you know otherwise)....there was a Henrietta Starr marriage in Southampton in 1956 to a William J Massey. As there are no Henrietta Starr births registered in England & Wales at all since the records began, it may well be worth looking into this marriage. It's possible of course that this particular Henrietta came from elsewhere (especially with it being a major port), but I would certainly think a copy of the marriage certificate is a small price to pay if it proves to be her.

..or what about the daughter of Henrietta? There appears to be one ~ have you tried her?

Hi Does anyone out there have Hennrietta starr( nee Gilks) b 1932 ish in birmingham in their tree she is my dads(eli) sister .They lived in Alcester warwickshire /Any info would be much appriceated
