hi Jodie, I'm confused

the person who has

Rabindraneuth Ganesh 1940 Uk

in a tree here is not a woman ... maybe it was your friend making a tree for you using her husband's account or some such ... but I still don't understand, the tree seems to belong to the child born in Wandsworth ...

I sent you the information I was looking at anyway

was the 1964 birth in Uxbridge ? are you in touch with those children ( the one who has a tree here at genesreunited ) ? I guess they would not know anything either ...

perhaps the Guyana telephone directory suggestion will help ... it would not be unusual for someone with a compound name to shorten it e.g. to 'Ganesh'

just in case

http://www.facebook.com/people/Nalinie-Ganeshnauth/1211209257

lives in Georgetown Guyana

also

http://en-gb.facebook.com/colin.ganesh1

date of birth matches the one Rabindran birth I referred to earlier ( going by middle name )

Guyana white pages

there are 92 results for 'Ganesh' ( no Rabindranath )

some have names like David, Debbie, Lloyd ...

one might think that someone named Ganesh in Guyana would know something of Rabindranath

92 copies of a letter, sent to each listed person ?

it could not likely hurt to try :-)

oh ... I just went to the end of the list

there is someone named GANESHNAUTH RABINDRANAUTH

I wonder ? that is the one of two listings for that surname

also I note that in 1966 there was a Ganesh birth with given name Rabindran in Ealing, I don't find a marriage for Ganesh to the mother's surname ... since the birth is in the last 50 years you would not be able to obtain the birth certificate

also someone here has an Indal Ganesh born 1945 in Guyana in their tree, it could also be worth inquiring there

... you do know that someone has this person in their tree ?

Rabindraneuth Ganesh 1940 Uk

Jodie ... that tree owner seems to have two trees under different numbers ... there are two people by his name in trees ... it's a little confusing ...

the member number with R Ganesh in his tree shows under the name 'Jim Smith' shall we say ( I don't want to put another member's name and family details here ) born 196_ in Wandsworth

there is also a tree belonging to 'Jim Jones' showing himself as born in the same year ... in Balham

only one 'Jim Jones' was born in 1963 in Wandsworth

this is a little complicated ... I will send you the details by private message

to be honest i dont think he was being to truthful on all the info he gave -
it does say his appearance is 'very dark coffee skin' so i am sure he told truth about his origin but find the scottish link odd also says that he is extremley hard to get hold of...maybe he wanted no come back...

As his name is Rabindraneath Ganesh you would think his father was from Guyanna and his Mother Scottish - unless they were not married.

hi its been a while i know but just wanted to confirm have a document of recorded interview with r.ganesh himself prior to the adoption the interviewee has put down he is from "british guiana (guyanna)" also that he states his father family being scottish and mothers family being south american indian. this just gets more complicated!
just wanted to say thanks to you all above you have prob guessed he is the biological father though my chances of finding him are pretty much nil his adress ot the time of interview was balham london that was in 1967
anyway just thought id update thanks again guys :-)

the name is Indian so I would have thought it more likely he was from British Guiana / now Guyana

... but googling

ganesh Ghana

does show peple with name Ganesh in Ghana

also the name is in Guyana of course

it also seems likely the first name was Rabindranath as in 'Rabindranath Tagore, the first Hindu Nobel Laureate'

do you have something that actually says 'british guiana - ghana' ?

if so it would have to be confusion on the part of whoever recorded it

it is less likely that someone of Indian heritage would come to Britain from Ghana ...

is there some way to sort out whether Guiana or Ghana is correct ?

saying he is -elusive- means that he is hard to track down, he eludes detection ( probably the person who wrote 'illusive' just couldn't spell, that is a common mistake )

I wonder whether it might have meant evasive, he does not give straight answers to questions

but probably elusive if someone was trying to find him and couldn't

and probably the person giving that information ( a child's mother possibly ? ) just did not know whether it was Guiana or Ghana and the person recording it just put both because it could not be determined ...

I think given the time and the name it is much more likely to have been Guiana though

British Guiana is NOT Ghana. Different continent.
From wikipedia:
British Guiana was the name of the British colony on the northern coast of South America, now the independent nation of Guyana.

yeah it does say british guiana - ghana there are so many irregularities though on one form it states he a law student - then a medical student he has give his d.o.b as ?.09.1943 then he is rabindraneath but then rock and once he is rabindranath all with surname ganesh its soooo confusing maybe he did it so he couldnt be traced or maybe there was a language barrier it says on notes he is illusive whatever that means?
thanks
