looking for geoffrey or his family, he was adopted out of the family his brother is my late dad. geoffrey would be in his 80s now so hope hes still with us. born radford, nottingham. 19/02/1922. aunty edna geoffreys sister told me all about geoffrey but i cannot find anymore information on him. so this is my uncle who i would love to find out any information on.many thanks maria. ( nee allcock ) :-)

There was a Geoffrey Fielder born in 1922.
Did you buy his birth certificate, to eliminate him via his date of birth ?

hello, no the last time i posted this message about my lost uncle geoffrey was ages back i did buy his birth cert but that only told me what i already knew where he was born and when and his birth name which he poss changed after being adopted. i just cannot find out any more about him hit a brick wall. i have been told because im only a niece i have to pay lots of money to find all info out and i cant afford to do this. i did write about a dozen letters to diff geoffrey allcocks around the uk and heard froma few only which was nice they replyed. thank you so much for your reply much appreciated. kind regards maria. :-)

so sorry i didnt purchase the mr fielder cert as i thought it could possibly not be my uncle AND it wouldnt tell me his birth name or change of name on the death cert?? so i didnt buy. ive only just read my older thread sorry. it does look like im going to have to do this now if you recon thats my best option? would you please tell me what GRO means. sorry to be such a pain, kind regards once again. maria. :-)

Basically if he was adopted, chance sare his name was changed . Writing to folk in his birth name would be a bit pointless.

Given his age, there are probably no records anyway - Not sure who told you what it would cost to obtain his post adoption name, (neice or otherwise) I am pretty certain this info isnt availible at any cost to anyone other than the adoptee.
