Thank you to anyone who tried to help. One person e-mailled me direct with a possible address in Greenock. I sent a letter and it was the person I had been looking for. 3 weeks later and several phone calls, letters & photo's (he has no computer.) He has booked flights and a hotel and he and his wife are coming to stay to meet his family that he knew nothing about.
He is as excited as we are. :-) :-D :-)

You could look in 'search trees' to find whether anyone else on GR is researching the family

Hello
I am trying to trace William 'Billy' Townley. His father was also William Townley born 1918 in Greenock. Billy was William's son from his 1st marriage in Greenock. This is as much as we know. He has 3 1/2 brothers who would like to find out more. If any one could help. Thank you. :-)
