Thanks for the clarification, and the amendment to your post.

I've looked on Ancestry.....no death up to 2005 matching your info about Janet

Can't see any births registered during the second marriage.

Hi Flick

I have been told that Janet's birthday was 4 November 1932.

Peter's assistance is merely advice on how to go about my searches. I am OK with looking up basic information regarding my more distant ancestors, but trying to find info surrounding living relatives is all new to me. Peter has kindly pointed me in the right direction via personal message. There was no info lost from the original thread. This new thread gives more information than the first, and all in one single post rather than the rather disjoined series of additions I made to the last one.
I have reworded my post in this thread regarding the daughter, but wanted to highlight the fact that we're not sure if Linda was known as Andrews or Drake. I wanted to mention both names just in case either sounded familiar to someone.

Do you know Janet's exact DOB?

And what 'help so far' has been given?

Deleting your thread(s) means that the info is lost, and people may now waste time duplicating Peter's research

I have deleted my previous post regarding this, in a bid to consolidate the various bits of info into new one, so apologies for repetition.

I am currently searching for my aunt, Janet DOWNIE, born West Sussex (most likely Felpham/Bognor) in 1932. She married David DRAKE in 1952 (marriage registered in Chichester), with whom she had a son, Richard D DRAKE in 1952. She later married Michael ANDREWS in 1956 (marriage registered in Worthing). Her daughter's birth was registered in the Worthing area in 1955 under the name of Linda DRAKE, but the family believe she was known as Linda ANDREWS. Janet had four sisters (Diane, Pearl, Delphine and Pam) and one younger brother, Michael (my father).

She was the daughter of Alexander William Morris Downie and Nellie Ambrose Reed.

Last contact with the family was during the mid 1960's.
Last known address - Hay House, Broadclyst, Devon (now a nursing home).

If any of this information sounds familiar to anyone, my family would be most grateful as Janet’s siblings and my mother are desperate to know what happened to her and her children.

I have searched trees on this site with little success. I found a couple of entries which looked promising, but have unfortunately had no response from the tree owners so far.

I have been on Friends Reunited and messaged a number of individuals who would have been at the local primary school during the time the family lived there, but have had very little response so far. I have also emailed the local primary school directly this evening to see if they have any record of the children’s attendance, so hope to hear from them soon after the new school year begins.

Thank you! Also, many thanks to Peter Fanshaw for all of his help so far.
