Hi Florin,
I visited The London Family Centre last Thursday and they took my e-mail address to let me know when they are at Kew. I was told all the staff were moving there. I think I herd 2nd week of September.

The filmed certificate has the same details that you would on an English Birth Record. Fathers name, address & occupation etc.

I have sent you a personal message (PM)

This gives the information you need:

http://www.groireland.ie/faqs.htm#15
A Pre 1997 Birth cert consists of date and place of birth, child's forename/s, fathers name, address and occupation, mothers name and maiden surname, name and address of person who registered the birth.

I am shocked to read that the Mormons family history centre is moving from South Kensington to Kew. I shall read their site to find out more.
Edited - and I read this:
"To ensure a continuity of service for their patrons we are looking at options and are in discussion with The National Archives on temporarily relocating their facility to The National Archives in Kew.
While no decision has been made, the feasibility work is at an advanced stage and an announcement will be made once an agreement is reached.
In any event, the London Family History Centre will close for the refurbishment after Saturday 20 August."

Thank you for your message, so its taken so long to pick it up but ive acquired a new granddaughter so ive been helping out.

Could you tell me if parents name are on Irish Birth Certificates? this is probably a daft question but i really dont know if they are the same as English ones.

Also do you know when the Londonfhc moves to Kew and since theres no way i can get to London will they post me a copy if i apply?

Sorry ive bombarded you with questions but it will help me a lot.

Hello Florin,
The london Family History Centre in South Kensington holds some of the birth certificates for Ireland. Unfortunatly they are closed for referb. Good news is they are moving all their stuff to The National Archives in Kew.

Here is their web site: http://www.londonfhc.org/

If you are not in a rush for the birth certificate then wait for Kew, as a print of the certificate would be about 20p.

I got my husbands mothers birth certificate from The london Family History Centre and it only cost me 20p. The information is stored on Micro Film and when you do a print you get everybody elses birth information that is on the same page.

Hope this helps. Angela

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way of finding birth records for 1935 in County Cork, my birth father John Patrick Devaney was born there and im trying to find out what either of his parents names are. Ive no idea where to start on this one so any help will be much appreciated.
