ThanksJax, have found out that Herbert changed his name from Hodgetts to Noates after he got married, strange eh!

I can't find any children of the Noades-Butterfield marriage, not any children for a Hodgetts-Butterfield marriage.

Looking at the marriages above, the wife may not even be a Butterfield as she appears to have married a Herbert Noades.

Unless Herbert had two surnames?

Herbert was born in Southend on Sea, Essex. Have found out that he married in 1943 in Hackney to a ? Butterfield. Am trying to find out if he is still alive or whether his wife is alive and whether they had any children.

I am so grateful for any help that I am given on him (family).
