Hi Flick I have tried to trace backward from myself through my fam. tree as I know of it. I have been to the archives at Carlisle many times but I seem to hit a brick wall when it comes to finding about John Campbel/Birkett & his fam. I know his brother George never married his brother or 1/2 borther Wm married & his father's name was on the marriage cert. as Rbt [Birkett] I think the registrar has asked for Wm's father & he has said Rbt but not his surname so the registrar has taken it as the same surname as Wm. Their sister or 1/2 sister Eleanor married a John Eland & I know she had fam. but again am unable to trace upto the present day, my mother knew of some fam. but her mother never said who they were. Then the last in the fam was James & his marriage or marriage's are a complete mixup again my mother when she was alive tried to unravel James fam. she knew of a cousin of her mother's was called Arthur & he married & had fam. My mother & I were in touch with his wife while she was alive but she did'nt know a great deal with her father-in-law being the youngest, so you see if I manage to find John's decendent's they maybe able to shed some light onto thing's. My mother & I also tried to got cert. but some dont have a father's name, & some I just can't find at all & wondered if they used a different surname to register a birth or marriage. Joan |

Hi Flick Birkett go back in this area to 1700's, the board no above is a relative from a different county now, I am trying to find any relatives from the original area, if there are any left. |
