You can't really be sure it is her, but there are very few Patricia Neads and this one just happens to be in the correct area. Odds are you have found her.

Hi Sarah,

One of the first things to do on this site is to check the names you are researching in the Search Trees box above (in the dark green bar) to see if anyone else on this site has them in their tree.

If you find a connection, you can contact the tree owner for further details. Regards. Cx.

Perhaps buy the possible marriage certificate..............see if the her father's name is blank.
OR buy the possible birth certificate of Patricia to check her date of birth
( as Flick says the death is ONLY a possible, & it is away from the known areas)

Perhaps sadly then, best leave it, if the above checks out.

Hi Sarah

This is hard , if the birth is correct you cannot even find her Fathers name to confirm if she is the correct marriage as it looks like Patricias mother may also have been single, also you cannot now work sideways as you do not know her Mothers name so cannot look for a marriage for her and siblings.
If your facts are correct it may be best to remove some of the names on here as I think there may be a family member also on this site, where you aware of this ?

That's the problem with births outside of marriage.....it's very hard to be sure.

I dread to think how future generations will be able to research FH, with so many thouands of unmarried people having children these days

I think it will be very difficult, as there are no fathers' names to help with your quest............

This MAY be the death of the person whose marriage I referred to..........

Flick

Flick Report 4 Aug 2011 21:47

I suggest you go to freebmd and look at what may be a marriage for the lady...........

Seems a likely candidate.........

NEADS Patricia Neads Long Ashton 5c 777

Long Ashton is a district in north Somerset, bordering on Bristol

If this is the right birth, she appears to have been illegitimate herself, so tracing her line will require buying the birth cert..........

Further info - she was down as working as a Cook at Exmoor House in Dulverton in 1946 - is there anyway of checking records at this place to get her date of birth?

Flick

Flick Report 4 Aug 2011 21:44

Have you looked for/found a birth for her on freebmd?

Sarah

Sarah Report 4 Aug 2011 21:34

This was her maiden name back in 1946 when she had my father Brian David Neads in Bristol. Having trouble finding her and hence this line of my family tree. Any help appreciated as have been looking at this for years and cannot come up with definite answers.
