Hi Everyone,

I am looking for my Dad's brother, Paul Harris (no middle name), he was born in 1939 in Birmingham/West Bromwich borders, he has 2 children, Caroline & Andrew Harris, they are about mid forties now, Caroline must be over 6' now, my Dad is Roy Harris, they also had a brother called Neil Tonks who died only age 36, Their parents were James & Florence Harris (nee Sparks) after my Granddad died my Nan later married Bertram Tonks, Neil had no children, Paul was in the Police force in Somerset in his early years, he worked his way to the top as far as I know, anyone with any info on any of them please contact me. I know it's a long shot <3
My Dad married Beryl Currah in 1965, I have a sister Amanda born 1966, I was born 1968, Caroline & Andrew were born around the same years.
Paul moved to Bahrain after retiring from the police force in the early 80's.

Your father has also posted a request for this man.............ONE posting is enough!

Please decide which of you will delete

And posting all your siblings' details is unncessary.......

I hope you've looked on here in 'search trees'

I advised Victoria that either she or her father should delete their thread, as they were duplicating each other's request.....

I also said that posting details of her siblings was unnecessary.......

I can't think it was referred for content..........someone is being vindictive, I imagine

I have been trying for some time to find my brother, with whom I lost touch in the mid eighties.

I thought a post on this message board might be fruitful.

Unbeknown to me, and without any collusion whatsoever, my daughter , Victoria had the same idea at the same time, and submitted a similar post.

Because another member 'thought' that we had collectively breached the rules, (though I cannot see anything in the guidelines which could be interpreted so), it would seem that my post has been taken down.

Now I am concerned that if I post again or complain I will be vilified for being vindictive.

This is totally unfair, and undermines the purpose of this site.

Any response will now go to Victoria's inbox which will then have to be forwarded to me, resulting in further delays.

there is nothing in the T & Cs that says two individual members ( who both pay to use the site) cannot post a query regarding the same person , however closely the individuals are connected.

It is no more a duplicate posting than if my cousin and I post a query having had a conversation earlier about ( eg) our grandparents which we may well have done.

it might be ultimately counter productive to have two posts on the same person ...but it isn't against t & cs,

Flick

Flick Report 30 Jul 2011 23:23

No-one suggested that the T&C's were involved.............it just seemed rather pointless to have two people asking exactly the same question, although giving differing amounts of info to facilitate the search.

Rambling rose

I have to agree with you that 2 seperate people paying their dues can search for the same person and post the exact same info for a look up why shouldnt they Flick?

How do you know these people are even in contact with each other?

Thank you to Anne & Zoe for all your help, it looks like we have found my cousins & their mother, we will contact them to see if Paul is still alive, it's nice to know that some people like to help

Also thanks to Lorraine for your post
