indeed, for sent a copy of photo of their grandmother as a young woman alongside her parents and siblings (1905) now will be able to send a photo of their gr grandmother as a young woman, also copy of portraits taken of gr gr grandparents (1880).
Although i am based here in UK , these photos etc., originated from Australia to which i myself found link to our tree to a 3rd cousin the beginning of this year. She herself had retained these photos for over 30 years, to which was left by her gr grandparents and grandparents, and on doing her research had an idea to whom these people names where, but couldnt make contact with anyone, hence when i did myself everything then came to light. - Therefore never give up hope. :-D

thought I would post this thread here and not on success stories.
I would like to say never give up on trying to find living relatives, for i originally posted a thread and had no luck but then i nudged it and some kind member found one link into my search. I sent a letter to relative to which i received contact back.
Canny thing is that when on telling a cousin of this find and relating to where they lived, it turned out that they lived next door to her mother in law, and this actual relative who i was searching for attended my cousins wedding and socialised every christmas. So it goes to show that never give up and you never know how your roots are connected to people you socialise with. :-D
