Hi Patchem

I sent her the death reg by pm and advised her to get the death cert to see who registered it , given that the death was in the same town and appears to be about the time contact with Eileen was lost it does seem likely .
Ginnxy check your pm's info sent about the broter as well. do not want to post it on her a lviing person.

No one sent me a death registration.
If Joan, born 1933, remembers her she cannot have died in 1933.
Just because no other birth for that name was registered, or has not been found, does not mean that there is not one.
However, probably get the death certificate as would save speculation and further research.
And ask Joan if she is just remembering what she has been told about Eileen?
Come back, please, ginnsmajor.

Yes, that is the death registration I sent you, it is possible the birth was reg late. The best way to make sure would be to order the death cert and maybe see who the informant was,
But i can see no other births reg for that name in that time frame.

Why did you delete the birth and death of Eileen Fairthorn??

Now makes my comment above look stupid

I do not understand this thread, are we referring to this death?
Deaths Dec 1933
Dransfield Eileen 3 Oldham 8d 1035
This cannot be Eileen as she was born in 1931, and Joan remembered her?

Added:
Or was her birth a late registration and she was born in 1930?
However, still the problem of Joan and her memory.

If Joan was not born until 1933 she would not have remembered Eileen surely? Infact Joan would have only been a couple of months old when Eileen died

Have you got her exact date of birth?
Would she use Dransfield or McIndoe as a surname (Her birth shows for both).
She was only 2 years older than Joan, does 'disappeared' mean died, but Joan just not told? Or sent to an 'orphanage' or 'school'?

I do not know if Eileen is still alive. She was born in Oldham in 1931. Her father was Thomas Dransfield. Her sister Joan, born 1933, remembers her from when they were little but Eileen disappeared from the family sometime in the 1930'sor early 1940's. Joan would love to meet her if she is still alive. Does anyone know anything about her please?
