I have recently been told that my Uncle Dennis Allen (born 1918 in Wandsworth) married and has 2 daughters born end of 1940's early 50's in Surrey. I have been unable to find them or if they are now married.
I am successfully in touch with a cousin 'once removed' who appraised me of them but she also has lost touch with them.
My mother, his sister Heather, (born 1922 Merton) sadly died in 2005 and I would also like to know if Dennis is also deceased.

His father's name was John George so I am thinking that might be his 'G'
I have looked for the marriage and for the births of his daughters but have not found anything conclusively. -
Birth records show him as father but with different mothers (spouse) names for the girls. I suppose that might be possible but was hoping someone here with more experience would be able to shed some light.

Because my cousins are living I feel it wrong to give their dob - but the place is likely to be NE Surrey
Please assist me to put another piece in the jigsaw

there is a marriage in Camberwell in 1948 for a Denis G Allen ... I think this is not your Dennis but this info will be useful to rule out that marriage

dual surnames for the wife usually indicate a divorce but I do not see a marriage that would explain that

the name is transcribed as Denis G Allen at Ancestry

but at freebmd it is transcribed as David G Allen

it is definitely DENIS on the image, freebmd has skipped down a line and missed the details for one marriage and the name for the next ... so I have submitted a correction

do the search at freebmd for the name David G Allen in 1948 and you will see the details

however a Denis G Allen was born in Camberwell in 1924 so this is probably the groom in that marriage

there seems to have been one daughter born to that marriage

just adding this to rule it out ( probably ) if you do come across that marriage

Thank you for your help. Ironically as I was on line yesterday evening I checked my e-mails and by pure coincidence my cousin Patricia had been looking for me for some time and had found me. We are now in touch and exchanging family info - my closest relative in 57 years. She has been abroad for the past 40 years hence no trace of her.
A good story
