Dear Kath,
Thank you for your advoce. I already have their marriage certificate and know that Harry's father was named Henry, but Williams is such a common surname that it creates difficulty in my search for Henry's parents. Henry was my Grandma's brother. She was "adopted" in the 1890's and I am trying tp find her ancestry. I just hoped that the name Armstrong, being more unusual, would attract a living relative with knowledge of the Williams family
Thank you once again for youhelp. It is much appreciated.

The marriage certificate should name Harry's father. Will send the marriage reference by private message.

Joan Armstrong married Harry Williams in 1945. I am hoping that relatives might have information on Harry's parents etc.
