No you are not stupid, we all have to learn and it is nice if people were kind to you instead of being not very helpful
All the best with your research

Going back to divorces relatives can be quite helpful sometimes, I would ring your local Library who are very helpful and they will perhaps guide you on any questions you ask, I have found they are a mind of information

Thanks it would have been in the late 50’s early 60’s. Are they not public records the same as birth marriage and death?
