yes ive posted about the same in an earlier thread and had a bit of grief for doing so fair comment as she was a living person...

sorry firstly for not responding quicker,

ok here we go my mum was in boarding school at the time and new nothing she found out about Grace just over twelve months ago her mother died a month later after grace was born,she is registered in two surnames Park/Mayes both entry numbers the same..i appreciate people saying about confidentiallity and all but i would really like to try and locate Grace to help out my Mum whom up until a while back new nothing of her.

i did try only to go down the wrong track,we thought it was correct but wrong sadly..

i did try the p/book also 192 to the best of my ability and the link above was one i did try ringing personally but thanks for the link.

again i would like to thankyou all again also the message that i recieved was helpfull and i have replied..

David eventually understood the meaning of the registration ... it seems David you know nothing about her so don't know whether she was adopted ... your mum was 10 years older and must not have been living with her mother at the time ?

there is entirely too much discussion in that other thread about a person who has not been asked whether she wants her private life talked about on the internet


David please do not start repeated threads about the same thing, it is against the rules and it does not increase your chances of finding a person

the boards here are not read by anyone other than regular members, check the number of 'views' of your message, posting over and over will not make it more likely that the person you are looking for will see your message

that would likely only happen if that person did an internet search for the names and in that case the search will find any thread at this board

In another thread you say Grace was adopted. This being the case, her name is unlikely to be Grace Mayes/Park.

Can we have some more background info? Where is Erika now? When did your mum last see her sister, or has she even met her?

if you look at BT on line there is only one listing for a Mayes in Luton

if you take the postcode for that listing and search at

for name Mayes with that postcode you will see the occupants

search at 192.com for name Mayes in Luton and there are a few others

your first question was 'if anyone from around the luton area with the surname mayes' ... there seems to be very few ... you could try contacting those people if you think they might be connected

David there is a marriage for a Grace Mayes in 1985 and there doesn't seem to be another Grace Mayes born to fit that marriage

is that the trail you were on that led to a dead end ?

hi im trying to locate my mums sister grace park born in luton in 1961 unfortunately we have just gone down the wrong path for the last 6 months.i have her birth record which is also under mayes,i had searched the marriage records and thought we were getting somewhere however it has proved to be a dead end..
if anyone from around the luton area with the surname mayes if you know of grace then please can you help.
