how utterly obnoxious

I believe I sent 3 private messages and all were read ... none was replied to ... although I was quite clear and polite the first time about how to find and reply in a thread ... and quite clear the last time about how to say the words 'thank you'

they are now not in my sent messages so yes the account has been deleted

what disgusting behaviour

I only hope that someday someone related to Mavis googles or comes to this site and finds this thread and sees the quality of person who was looking for them

They were on the passanger list Bob but as we could be talking about living people I did not post it.

I do believe Genes have them online now for an extra cost

Are not the emigration passenger lists for Australia on line now? I seem to remember them being advertised as being so! Bob B

ah people with blackberrys are very important persons I believe, the blackberry makes a person's memory unnecessary, imagine getting that many emails not to remember what you had read :-)

well I have sent another private message so we shall see

................... a blackberry can do wondrous things but I don't think it can mark a private message in my 'sent messages' as read :-D

jax

jax Report 8 Jul 2011 14:58

It could be that the poster does not have access to a computer very often and their "blackberry" marks all their emails as read :-D

Well thats what I got told by someone anyway??

they could have had more children in Australia - ?

if you search family trees here for the surname Horsley born in Australia 1955 plus or minus 10 years

there are not too many results

then you can set aside any tree owner who has Horsleys born before 1952

and you could try contacting people who have only Horsleys born after 1952 ... who could be children of John and Mavis

there are results in both New South Wales and Victoria

from their marriage record he was John D Horsley

there is this death notice at www.ryersonindex.org

HORSLEY John David Death notice 04MAR2003 Death late of Mt. Evelyn
Herald Sun (Melbourne) 06MAR2003
HORSLEY John David Death notice 04MAR2003 Death
Herald Sun (Melbourne) 07MAR2003

I believe you can requst details of those death notices which would probably name family members ( this could give you married names for the two girls )

there was no death notice for Mavis Horsley at that site

there are only two telephone listings for M Horsley in Victoria

http://www.whitepages.com.au/resSearch.do?subscriberName=horsley&givenName=m&location=victoria

sometimes widowed women still have their telephone listing under their husband's name and there are also two listings for J Horsley in Victoria

http://www.whitepages.com.au/resSearch.do?subscriberName=horsley&givenName=j&location=victoria

oh ...... the place of residence for John David Horsley when he died was Mt Evelyn and there is this telephone listing in that location

http://www.whitepages.com.au/resSearch.do?subscriberName=horsley&givenName=m&location=mt+evelyn+vic

so it looks very likely that this is Mavis :-)

I hope some of this may help !
