hi everyone....i am wondering how i would go about looking for someone not in the uk!? i am looking for martin g mills born 6th sept 1949..

the only thing i can find on him here is his marridge to my mum jennifer bennett in december 73!!

i am not always on here but will reply to all posts when i can and i would like to thank all those that help us on here...

Start with 'search trees' - someone else may be researching him.

How do you know he isn't in the UK? Have you some info about his having emigrated?

Did he and your mother divorce?

If you think he may have emmigrated, you could search for telephone directories for the country he may have gone to - eg

Search telephone books Australia gives

White Pages (with country added) is a popular portal for many countries, not just English speaking ones

Many thanks both..... And he moved to Germany in about 78/79 and and I know he got a new passport in 88 that was in the uk and then in 98 in Athens!! I have tried the phone books for both places!! No joy and yes he and my mum divorced around 82!!

And I have tried looking for him in the uk but with no luck as yet but still hoping someone out there might know how to find him... I also did try other peoples trees but no luck.... Anyway many thanks for your posts

I would be inclined to look for other family members. To do so you need to find his birth if you can - but I don't see one in England/Wales?

Thanks jan and I have found other family but he was never close to any of them as he was born in 49 but adopted in 1950 and I believe he was a smith!!!! This is not a easy one!!!
