Thanks patchem, I do have all that and have sent off for the various certs etc. Geo. Holland was my Dad's paternal uncle, making Cyril and Irene his first cousins. However they were never mentioned in the family at all, and seemingly the family didn't know Uncle Geo had even married altho it was all very local. I only found about his family from his WW1 records a couple of years ago, by which time my Dad had died. Cyril and his wife lived almost in the next street to us in Rotherham, which makes it even odder. I have found a possible death for Irene as a young child, but no marriage so far.
I would just love to know why the family seemed to have split up so radically that Geo's family were never even mentioned! He appeared as a strong man in the Music Halls, and then became baggage handler for the famous Florrie Forde, I don't even know when and where he died, as everyone seemed to have assumed that he was unmarried and travelled around with her, losing touch with his brother etc. So that's the reason for my curiosity!

Thanks again, Sue

Irene must have been born about June 1910 because the 1911 census was carried out on 1911 Census Sunday 2nd April 1911.
? Births
Sep 1910
HOLLAND Irene Rotherham 9c 739
If you want to look for her family you need her date of birth to find death (possibly).

Have you looked on free bmd to see if they had any children?

Have you looked on trees on here for common ancestors?

Added:
There looks to be a son for Emily (Roddis), which you can find on free bmd.

Then try here:

In an attempt to solve a family mystery I would very much like to make contact with any relatives or descendants of;

Cyril Henry Holland 1905-1987

His wife Cissie Askam 1909-1993

Her sister Emily ( became Mrs Roddis ) 1919-2000

Many thanks, Sue
