I find myself limited to watch and only post on 1 or 2 threads
why don't you post some comic poetry ... a lot of peeps will join in with you and it would take your mind of your pain for a while.

Don't think i can manage anything comic at the moment Gill, I have just over a month on my membership, and doubt i shall renew this time, too many people i used to get on with have left, not saying that there aren't nice people still here..just not as 'close' to them I guess.
I'm writing a bit for the writers group, and trying hard not to make that too depressing lol.

So sorry girls and boys, have had a lot going on recently and added it all to the Just Jean thread. Just haven't had time to add to many threads at all. When I do pop a thread on it's usually during the night so it doesn't get nudged! Sorry you are so low Deanna, and our Mary is too busy to come on here, Caz is in pain a lot so can't post much and where is Tinkerbelle, surely back from hols now?
I am cautiously optimistic that things are settling down over the son in NY coming to be best man at his wedding, there has been so much hooha over whether o.h. and his ex and the son getting married, should cough up the money for the fare of son and his wife of a year. Seems sense has prevailed and the son has had to accept people can't afford all that, it's not their fault he went off to NY on a whim, fare paid by the woman he had met just before returning home in Nov 2008, so he has been there since end 2008, married the girl last June 09 so he could stay on, and hasn't had a job in all that while, even tho he now has his work permit or whatever it is. She has two little girls so it's a bit sad that they must have gone without to keep o.h.'s son with them and it will be nice for them to have their Mum to themselves again while S is over here.
Counselling going well, lots of tears and soggy tissues but I feel as tho I am dealing with a lot of old baggage, just can't seem to get rid of it for good yet, a bit like all the stuff I hoard.
Better get myself off to bed now, sun is up and I am tired. I went out on some errands yesterday and managed to get myself lost twice, which is not like me altho I was in an area of Norwich outskirts that I am not familiar with.
Take care all, hope the sun stays out for you
Huia, so glad Phil seemed healthy and more alert this time you visited, it must make you feel better too. Shame about the vermin, hope you can get rid of them soon. Enjoy the midwinter party.
love Lizxxx

Day off at last! I have been so jet lagged, sleep when I get home from work on the setti, can't sleep in bed later. Go to work come home sleep on setti ............
We had a wonderful holiday, I am so lucky. We all enjoyed ourselves. Went to King Tut exibition in Times Sq, sight seeing bus hop on hop off for two days in NY. Boat trip to see Statue of Liberty. Ground Zero, American Indian museum. Hired car and went to Niagara Falls, and skylone tower. Walked over bridge to Canada, and went on Maid of the mist, fantastic highlight of the holiday. Shopping next day at a fashion outlet. Then back in car to Lancaster Pennsylvania. A full days drive which Steve and I shared. ( Me driving in America, who would of thought it) We had two nights in a lovely hotel driving round beautiful landscapes. Looking at Amish people working the fields and crafts. Went on a two horse drawn wagon ride. went to a place called Intercourse where pretzils are made Then back to initial hotel in New Jersey. Car back to hire company and back on busses to NY. We went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. Empire State Building amazing views. More shopping this time in Macys. We walked miles, some days it was in the mid 90's so not easy. My feet were swollen and painful! But we had such a lot to see I kept going. ( I know I'm a hero)!
I missed internet acsess and my mobile had no signal despite being quad band! I don't know what to do to get it to work it didn't work when we went to Ohio 18 months ago.
So washing and ironing all the stuff we took with us what a job! Taking gifts to people who kindly took care of our dog while we were away. And then hopefully back to normal.
Have read thread up to date and yes it has changed Deanna. Hazel hope Teri had a good birthday despite her health news. Mary so sorry we didn't get to see one another this time. But thinking of you all the while. Liz you stick with your therapy and I'll stick with mine! Colin Gail thinking of you having your winter. Claire how are you and the family? Eileen have talked to you via email so hi to you. And the terrible two some Dutch and Caz, ~~~~. HI Rambling Rose, and Gill. Jean, look forward to your post later. Screen jumping like Eileens does. Pain isn't it! So all I missed sorry but can't cope with this xxx

Carole sounds as if you had a really good holiday, I have never been to N York although have been to many places in the states.
Deanna I have PM's you, also Rose. Rose I would miss you terribly if you left, you are one of the sane people on here and I love your contributions to the Writing group.
Does anyone have any ideas why the boards have gone so much downhill, was facebook the death of chat boards like GR do you think?
Joyce (JP) Sooo good to see you on here, please do come back on and cheer our Deanna up.
Gill, you are right that Rose's comic poetry would cheer us all up, but she need to be in the mood to write it, catch 22 situation.
I guess it is down to each of us to drag the boards back to what they were. If we can.

Ooops!..almost missed out on my promise to post again today but after my visit to the docs, well!!! news from that area is always depressing, then having to go outside to get to surgery and being blasted by the heat did not really help....and when I arrived home Toby was not too amused at being left on his own and expected us to go out for 'walkies', which we did! I ended up half a stone lighter, red and blistered, dehydrated and just desperate to tear off my clothes and jump under the shower..but no...the 'T' van was drawing up outside with my delivery of food, etc, whilst taking delivery two friends arrived unexpectedly and we ended up having a late lunch.....if any of you folk out there are thinking of taking early retirement to enjoy a more peaceful pace of life, forget it folks...it does not work that way, well not for me it does'nt..lol...
As some of you dear folk have mentioned, yes the postings have dropped dramatically but I see that as a positive factor which means people are spending more time outdoors, getting lots of fresh air and chatting to neighbours, less time to dwell on aches and pains, hopefully....our thread truly comes to life as winter approaches and it is then when we benefit from the warmth of our friends and we gather closer together, yes xxxx
There are too many sad areas in my life at the moment, marriage breakups etc...then I believe I might have mentioned my daughter was due to to have key hole surgery on her knee for a torn tendon..a date was set, she went for the pre -op check-ups and duly reported at hospital on due date, only to be informed that her operation had been cancelled and why was she not notified of this by her own doctor! Now who is going to tell an unsuspecting patient that she has a raised glucose level in her bloodstream, NO ONE it appears...she went from hospital to her doctors surgery and demanded to know what was going on and why was she not contacted, it turns out she is diabetic type 2 and her glucose levels need to be reduced and stabalised before an operation can take place, to say she was/is angry is an understatement........now that is the second BIG error our surgery have made, both on the diabetic front...they now have to address two complaints, one from my daughter and one from me...so much for health care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well Deanna, so far I have'nt been much help in helping to lift your spirits have I lass, sorry xxx but at least you have once again managed to get me scribing away. I cannot promise to use up the full quota of 5000 words like we used to in the 'day's of old', remember.....I think what I will do right now is say farewell until the weekend, hopefully by then my heated brain will have had the time to think up some bits of nonsense to titillate your tastebuds, okay....
To all you lovely folk out there I send my love and if you are looking in Caz I send you very gentle (((hugs))) xxx
Bye xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Nonsense or not Joyce, to see you posting is just great. I often wonder how we had time to fit in a full days work, I couldn't manage it now, too many other things to do. I am glad Toby sees his walkies as a priority anyway. Sorry to hear about your daughter's cancelled op and the incompetence of your surgery. I could do with ending up half a stone (at least) lighter but I don't think I'll try your way. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Just a quick welcome back to Carole, and hello to Justice of the Peace, lovely to see you here again, and sorry things aren't so rosy for you right now. At least you have Toby to have a moan at or tell your troubles to, animals are always so good at listening and don't say I told you so or gossip to others.
Take care love, and all of you
More on the wedding saga on J. Jean thread, I think I will have to wait to celebrate things till nearer the time, still not sure if the d.i.l. in NY will be at the wedding or not, she is making a fuss about not coming over and being paid for. Now if I was a single Mum with two children and money probs cos of taking in a non working chap who I later married, I think I would rather spend a week with my children without someone needing money for cigs and such, and just enjoy being a threesome again and having a little more spare money for the girls. They must have lost out hugely by their Mum paying for o.h.'s son fare to go and stay with her not long after he came back from his first jaunt to the States, and then keeping him in food, clothes and fags etc for over 18 months. It's their turn now, bless them

I think Deanna is correct. Use of the board has dropped off. For me, I am not the chat room type. I can read a post and reply or try to help someone but not in real time. Being on the other side of the world doesn't help, as no one in England should be out of bed at this time of morning. Gill, you could keep venting your feelings, not just say how dark you feel. We know that, and many of us have been there. Perhaps if you could tell us a little bit about what is going on in your life, someone else who has experienced that might be able to offer help. Hello JP, Tink, RR, Ann and Purple. Also treehunter and Gran of Oz if you're about. When you rise to greet the day, remember: autumn is coming, then you will pine for those long summer days- maybe. The weather is changeable here, dull and showers one moment, sunny the next. It is a struggle to get out from under the Doona (duvet to you) at 6 am to do blood glucose check. Specially when the temperature is in single figures Celsius. In a harsher climate we would have central heating, but not here. Anyway, be kind to yourselves and take care. Colin

Hi Joyce, how lovely to see you an here again. I have been a bit low and really did need a lift, which is what I get from all the people on here. When I came on and there was no one here, it was like walking to a friends house and finding the door locked.... idiot you say? Yes, that is me, which is why I need you all . Joyce , you need never apologise to me for not helping. I think you have enough to contend with without me making you feel bad. All of you actually. BUT. I was in need of a chat, anything would have done... the price of fish, the new skirt lengths Paris.... just some one to speak to. I think Joyce that there are doctors who are just 'inificient' and we have all had them. In the past, they have damaged my husband.... badly, almost killed my son.... twice, but me? I have a wonderful doctor and bless her she looks after me from a distance. The fact that your girl was not seen to BEFORE the appointment was made for the operation, is unbelievable. They usually take so much blood and information from us before an op, that is takes longer than the recovery!
Colin, get back to bed love, you need your rest. I am getting up so early these mornings, its the sun and the birds... they both have me up before I want to be!
I did get your message Ann, did you get my answer? I am hating this new e-mailing format on VIRGIN... never mind, at least I can keep in contact.
Well all..... I am feeling much better now. We went out yesterday to have our eyes tested... new glasses (have I told you?) then to the doctors for papers for blood tests. Then we went for a meal. I wanted a coffee while we waited, but couldn't have one!!!! The coffee machine was BROKEN...... and they did not have a kettle! Have they never boiled water in a pan??
However after our meal we went to pick a few bits up at Morrisons and had a coffee there.
We lead a very exciting life.... are you all jealous now?? Thought you would be.... ;-0)
My friend Mary had her handbag stolen today. Money, creditcards, car keys, house keys, drivers licence , gift vouchers she had for her birthday and Christmas... not to mention all the lovely bits we all keep in our handbags. AND. I feel as if I have said that before. Had to get a cab and ask a neighbour to pay until her husband came home. She is so upset. A woman who would give her right arm to a person in need. How fair is that? Love to all and so nice to see you on here today. Lots of love to: Joyce my cheeky one thanks for coming on love X Colin, Ann, Liz, Carole, Gill, Rose (leaving? I don't think so!), Carole ..caz, Mary, Hazel, and all the people on here who keep me sane.... thank you all.
Hugs to all who need one, Deanna XXXXX

Deanna your poor friend. Where was the bag stolen from? I hardly ever take a handbag into town these days. I wear a bag round my waist which holds my purse and cards and keys. It is usually under my coat if I have one on. I do carry a bag but it has unimportant things in and I don't carry my driving licence with me, there are so many bags snatched in town. I hope she has managed to stop all her cards etc. What an inconvenience it all is though.

Evening all, and no! I am not a copper, as in a policeman or bobby as they were known in my day...I just thought I would pass a few minutes with you all whilst waiting for my chicken to finish cooking, some of which I intend having with a salad, etc a little later, maybe when the sun has gone down but not the heat it would appear!. Today it was registering 32c outside and it was certainly a lot hotter indoors....my granddaughter who travels from Essex to London to her work said it was around 42c on the underground, phew!.. Toby, bless him, was more than subdued today and was making hard work of the heat, so I filled up a bowl with tepid water and with a face flannel gently sponged him down.. I believe he thought he had gone to heaven and every time I stopped he nudged me to continue...I am now searching the internet for what I bought for my children, many years ago.. an army canvas bath which I filled with water and they played in it for hours...if I find any and 'they' do a larger version well who knows I just might treat myself, but will have to search out my bikini first lol....Deanna, please....I can hear your laughter from here..in fact I was going to invite you to join me but am having second thoughts now xxxxx. By the way my heated brain has yet to return to normal after yesterday's escapade, I have'nt a clue as to what to write tomorrow to lighten up your lives but I will think of something, I hope! lol....... Right ,the pinger has pinged, the chicken is cooked and I'm away to dress down....just hope I do not have anymore unexpected visitors because believe you me I am not a pretty sight in my jammie bottoms and old 't' shirt..lol.., only kidding because I am beautiful really, wrinkles and all xxx Sweet dreams all and more (((hugs))) for my Caz xxxx

Hi Ann, it was in The shop Lidls. I just phoned to see how she is. Her husband sent a message on her phone to whomever stole it and asked them to take the money, but leave the bag with all the personal bits in. Take it to a spot of their choice and leave it. He would come and collect it. They have since stopped using the phone! She is so upset as there are bits, you know what we women are, that she has which mean a lot to Mary. Mass cards from the funeral of a friend, all sorts of very personal things. She is okay jut now and he has changed the door locks. We will see what happens. The police have said that there has been a spate of them THIS WEEK! Joyce, You look beautiful in your Jammie bottoms and Tee shirt. Almost as good as I do in my PJ's.... But not quite as good! see you all tomorrow I hope. Joyce stop hugging Caz so much, she will get sore bless her... Good night all.... again. Love to all Deanna XXXX

Joyce, I am sure you are lovely pyjama bottoms or not. Hope you enjoyed your chicken, and I bet Toby got some too. I bet he really enjoyed his sponge down. Fortunately it was pleasantly warm here today but not too hot, we had quite a breeze.
Deanna, I do hope she gets the personal bits back if nothing else. at least with the locks changed they don't have to worry about uninvited 'guests'. Supermarkets are prime places for bag thefts, so many people leave their bags in their trolleys thinking everyone is honest, I hope the person gets caught anyway, if not this time then I hope his or her luck runs out soon.

And no! ...I did not delete the previous posting folks......but it could be that this posting of mine might just disappear when I type the following news snippet! Because of the compliments I received last night about looking 'pretty' in my jammies, I decided to wander out into the garden around 6am this morning, yes still in my jammies, to water my plants before it got too warm....so far no police cars have pulled up to arrest me for indecent attire/behaviour....shame because I could have done with wee break, all for free lol...... Am still trying desperately to think of some mad brained idea to entertain you with...just bear with me, okay... Away to hang out my washing.......have a good day all..xxxxxx
