My tablet into cat method, which worked for my Tommy, the lairiest cat in the World,is this. I sit on the bed or sofa with the cat on my left,it doesn't work the other side. I kind of hold him to my hip with my forearm and cup my hand under his chin to open his mouth with my finger and thumb. Then, with his head looking up,trying to get away from my hand,I pop the pill in the back of his throat, let go his mouth and stroke his throat a bit. It's nothing like the trauma of wrapping in towels and wrestling.

Yesterday was Hayleys friends funeral. I went with Hayley as I knew she would be upset, and maybe like me there. I ended up trying to comfort Hayley by my left side, her friend on her left and her other friend infront of me. All the time wiping my own tears away. It was so sad to see her young husband trying to pay his tribute speaking in church. All their young friends, the church was full. The burial was in the church yard just over the road. Everyone followed to be with Sara till the end. We were all invited back to the village pub for refreshments. Sara's husband came to sit with his friends at our table. Anthony had ran the local 10k run Sunday and had sponsors he was able to give Mark £600 to help him over the next couple of weeks, Mark cried. We all did! They all took Mark out last night. Mark has been staying with Sarhs brother and his partner.

Hello everyone.
Thanks for the sympathy Liz, I was very fond of this s.i.l, so want to say goodbye if poss.My favourite s.i.l phoned later yesterday for a long chat. She’s such a lovely person, bless her.I couldn’t find it in my heart to refuse to go with ex. If he feels the need for support. As you say Liz, anyone could have found Matt. (ex. Collegue), but he was quite well hidden, and he made sure he would be found very quickly. He left clear instructions in his farewell letter to his wife, so it was only a matter of one hour… Colin, have replied to your p.m.It was very kind of you to take the trouble.Am glad you and Gail dare to mention about feeling very near the edge, as it were, in the past, but were too tired or ‘lazy’ to do anything about it.I have felt like this too.Having seen the misery and pain this causes family and friends/collegues, well….need I say more? Brittany is lovely this time of the year, mimosa grows everywhere, even in the wild.Still far to drive to though! Your ex. Girlfriend certainly got around! Phew… Deanna, you are not a “troublesome housewife”. You can’t help having circulation probs. Can you? My sister has always felt the cold badly, and she is very healthy, has never been ill in her life, apart from colds etc.I don’t feel the cold much, or am a bit immune to it maybe? If Hell is hot, Heaven must be just right.LOL ! An typing this n the Word program, but it still looks odd when it turns up on the D/A thread. Can’t explain what I mean, but the sentences are broken up oddly..
Must get cracking, lots to do.
Take care and be happy. Eileen
I typed this yesterday, couldn’t send it.
Carole, how very sad it must have been for everyone yesterday.Dreadful when someone so young is taken. It doesn’t seem fair.

Well the reply thingy didn't help me much yesterday... I think GR hates me.... boo hoo still I was able to have chats with pals through the messages and my e-mails. still owe you an answer Eileen I think.
This seems to have been a very sad time for everyone, my heart goes out to you all. Bless you. x
worked so hard yesterday that I really knocked myself out a bit, and this morning could not face making the bed. Allan , bless him, made it I've noticed but I think I will have to *straighten it out * before we get into it! ha ha ha
I am still in a very 'funny' state of mind. I cannot finish my book, I don't seem to be able to keep my mind on my searches and I am desperate to find ONE rellie whose death is turning out to be a nightmare to find. I seem okay, but I know I'm not. Depression is such a destructive emotion isn't it? Ah well, been here before and got through so I will get through it again.... just give it time as usual.
Off to watch Doctors and have a bit of a rest. Thinking is our biggest problem isn't it ?
Hugs to all and I have not forgotten anyone I think of you all. Deanna XXXX

If ever there is a time when you need somebody on your side it is when you are depressed.Maybe others have gone through worse but you are not others and I don't suppose they went through it deliberately.
Looks like you need your doctor on your side and see if he can recommend somebody else to back you up.Citizens Advice looks like it needs a visit too.

teesdale, I sent a cutting from a newspaper to my son about the same problem that you have.
It seems an employer has a duty of care to provide a stress free work life for you ( that's not worded very well but I hope you get my drift) You definitely need to contact Citizens Advice Bureau about the way you have been treated, that's not the way for them to go telling you not to be a victim, and it can be linked to workplace bullying if they behave like that, I would imagine. google workplace bullying and workplace stress and have a read, there is sure to be lots about it and you can get an idea of what to do from there, also speak to your doctor about it as they might know about the rules in place, after all it will apply to them too as employers.
Good luck, I am not usually around till late at night till dawn so if you need an ear then look out for me. Good luck
Lizx
Hugs for all including Sharron tho I thought you weren't a huggy person, or think you said that once lol

Gail.... it is a beaut.... I can sit in it and lie in it (but don't) and it is so comfortable.... and warm too. When I can lift my legs off the floor I miss all the drafts. So... as far as I am concerned...my son spent his money very well..;-0)
Teesdale, I take it that you had some support from some of the girls? If you need any more and you think I can help, PM me. Chin up love nothing is as bad as we think. I am having a bad'ish time just now too and I am on my tablets all the time. We will win through as we usually do. X
I would like to mention all of you but I just can't... so you will have to all accept that I am thinking of you all. Love Deanna XXXX

Sorry I haven't been around much, just had so much on. I pop in to see how you are and find you falling out!! Haha.
Hi Teesdale ~~~~ Had quite a lot of time off the last couple of years myself, with depression, stress. Feel bad but work have been very good. I go back feeling as if they will set me up, and sack me for something!! When really I have a lot of support at work it's just odd people who don't understand. Please feel free to talk to any of us on here. It really does help to talk to those who understand what you are going through
Things are settling down a bit now with regards to my Aunt. She seems ok in her new home. The staff all like her and say she is no trouble. No chance of her going home as we have emptied her home all but the furniture, which has to go soon or she will have to pay council tax!
Mum phoned last week (Wednesday)her fridge freezer had broken down and she needed another straight away. And her old one needed taking away. I was tired and just finished work, hadn't eaten but she wanted a new freezer sorting out. I didn't bite so she phoned back later and got Steve who did bite and off we went to get her a fridge freezer!!

Hi Deanna, glad that chair is making you comfy and warm! Will catch up with you soon, honest!
Carole, I am glad your Aunt has settled so well and is well liked. Must be so nice for her to be in company and warm and waited on! Did you ever find that missing jewellery when you cleared her things? I think it was you told us about her saying some had been stolen.
Take care all, must get to bed in a mo
Love Lizxxx

Hello Teesdale, I hope things have picked up. Early in my depression I found that the only person who seemed to understand was my sister, who I later found goes through extremely bleak periods. So did our mother, but she died in 1975 before the modern meds were available. I think she was treated with valium, which can be great for anxiety but is probably the wrong drug for depression. Eileen. I got your reply and hope things are going OK with the trip. Gail and others, my bleakest periods were a long time ago, about March 1985, June 1987 and April 1997. The latter followed a hypomanic state brought on I believe by the antidepressant. I was on a major tranquillizer for a few weeks and Lithium, but that did not hold the depression. Since then, I have been on Lithium and later valproate as a mood stabiliser, with anti-depressant when I need it. At present I do feel I need it (started December, job stress) but hope to come off it when things settle down. gentle hugs to YCaz and Deanna and all who need them. xx Colin

That last answer was quite an eye-opener to me. I have been doing all soorts of things to avoid medication, well avoid doctors at all costs really, as I didn't want to go back on the medication I was taking in my teens. Sometimes I get a bit stir crazy in the current situation and have just got on with it.
It just never occured to me that I last took tranquilizers,Librium I think it was called, nearly forty years ago and that medication is very different now.Of course,I don't have to live with a mad woman either,my esteemed mother(you ask her!)
