Have been trying to catch up on some postings, but there are soooo many...
Thank you Ann & Deanna for asking about poor little Floris. I feel desperately sorry for my daughter too, she sounded completely frazzled this morning, as he cired most of the night, so no sleep for her, of course.She doesn't think it is only due to the pain (that is still bad, but he gets suppositories for this, which help slighty), but the fright he had when police and ambulance workers were seeing to him on the beach, plus, he is scared of moving anything, in case it makes the pain worse.
Hazel, what a dreadful story about your friend and her ex & son...hope she gets everything sorted soon.
Gail, how old is the neighbour? Would a word with her (lovely) husband help do you think?
Have as pain-free and peaceful as possible day everyone.

Hi to you lot, hope you are all well. Daughter has also stay for another week, so very lucky and having loads of fun with grandson.
Neighbour!!! They are both in their 80's, and have all their marbles, unlike me, missing a few. She does not have dementia either, I know the signs by now. She had me close to tears the other day and OH told her she was not welcome. We have had to start locking our doors when we just go down the street for 5 minutes as have found her here when we get home, last time she was in our garage looking around. I will try to do some gardening and turn around and she is behind me. When OH told her off, she was over the other side of the fence yelling at me.
Ann in glos, have tried the poor me act and it does not work as she is worse than me, so she tells me. Her OH has been heard several times telling her to "shut up for goodness sake". Hard part is I have always had great neighbours, so think I have been spoiled and finding it hard to cope with a bad one, though her OH is really nice.
I think our Sharron is correct with the narcissist theory, the bells are ringing loudly.
Off now to check my curried chicken is cooking nicely.
Love and hugs
Gail
~~~~~~~~~ to our Y/Caz, special gentle hugs for you.
Hi everyone. I hope you and yours are getting along better than the other day. Bless us all, we sometimes have such a hard job getting through our days don't we?
Carole, we are not too bad just now, although Tony is very tired... pushes himself too much sometimes, still not so long ago he was practically bed bound, so he is doing well.
We got the machine and our friend put it in for us, and I have done the saved up washing... It is a beautiful washing machine and SO quiet too. Never mind, the tumble dryer makes up for it, it is so noisy. Better go and get on with my packing. washing and packing kitchen bits...... where did they come from??????????
Look after yourselves my friends and I will be back again full time when my kitchen is finished. Not even started yet! The end of the month they said. God Bless, Deanna XXXXXX
I don't do the washing any more.Just how much more wickedly selfish an I become? Just like my mother always said!. My dad does the washing!
While I am up here playing on the computer he is downstairs peeling potatoes.
Sent home to die because he was making no progress huh.If only he could find the time!
Hi
I will say that it was a myth that the Kray Twins only hurt other gangsters. They would hurt anyone if they crossed them. They have said so in their books.
I wonder what Ronnie and Reggie Kray would have thought if he was still alive today and I wrote to them with evidence we are related? Would they take to me or what?
Hello Carole and the crew, thanks for your question. Yes it is a very strange time for me to be on (nearly 5 am) but I couldn't sleep and thought I catch up on some of the threads, especially those related to deleted ones and banned people. There are one or two I would like to see red carded, but they seem to have got the wrong ones. I haven't contributed to the thread for Jean, but maybe I should. No time to be depressed- I have been a bit busy with work and my girlfriend has not been well. A couple of trips to the cardiology clinic for tests. Should be OK now, everything has been ruled out. Deanna, she is like you, always freezing.In our climate houses general have little heating, but her flat faces NE and the sun goes behind the building about 3 pm in winter. Then, she says that she'll never be warm again, gets cold around the feet and the shoulders. Come summer, doesn't cope well with the heat and nor do I, but retreats to the back bedroom. Gail, good luck with your neighbour. We had one officious twit next door but we eventually saw him off, the next one was a bit of a lair and played his doof doof music- not too late at night, but the bass thud...thud...thud... came through the common wall for a couple of hours. The current owner is normal. Eileen, I refuse to do the maths but in 1962 I was at secondary school. Gentle hugs to YCaz. xx Colin
Thanks Carol.Awol? Lol !
Colin, I was 18 in ' 62, so a few years older than you.....
Have phoned daughter Fiona to wish her happy birthday for today. How the 44 years have flown since her birth!!! Thank goodness my card arrived on time...we are all going to Amsterdam tomorrow to celebrate her birthday and son Zachaar's-his was on the 13th. I had already given him his pressie when my ex. & myself went to youngest's birthday celbration on 27th sept.
BTW, This daughter, Sarah, phoned yesterday evening and sounded much more cheerful and relaxed.She found a great solution for Floris.Put a large sheep skin mat on the floor in living room, so he was able to roll around on that, use his muscles and be distracted from pain etc.
It is sunny here, but will be terrible after tomorrow...and then the dratted clocks going forward an hour!!! UGH, does anyone else dread this every year?
Peace to all of you, hope you all have a nice weekend.
On this very drab October morning may I say 'Howdy doody to yah all'.
COLIN, ANN, BEN, LIZ, MARY, CAROLE, AND CAROLE Y,CLAIRE,EILEEN,DUTCH JOYCE........... AND CHEEKY JOYCE PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE WELL.
Anyone else I have forgotten, I'm sorry. I think of you often but the memory is a bit defective since the stroke. The rest of me SEEMS to be okay, but hey... I'm no judge.
We are doing quite well packing up the kitchen, and I am being quite ruthless about throwing things away, although there are a few things I just CANNOT throw out. My collection of mugs etc with cows on them!! My beloved son and my wee Lisa have been calling me a 'mad cow' forever. They buy me gifts with cows on them and I just love them. How could I throw them out?
Anyway folks, onward and upward. A little bit every day will see me ready when the workmen come.
Have a lovely weekend and look after yourselves. lots of love, Deanna XXXXX
Most of us seem to be in good (ish) spirits at the moment. I spoke to Claire on the 22nd and Joyce, also spoke to Joyce last night. Claire and her family are well. Joyce is in a lot of pain and so I hope the doctor here understanding her ( as well as posible at the speed she talks with that accent!) will be able to get it under control.
I also had a lovely chat on facebook with Betty. Seems ages since we communicated together. xx
Had to go to parents yesterday to see man from the council, about paying for Dads care at home. Going to have to pay full wack of £340 a month (£10,50 an hour) as Dad has a good pension. He said the most they charge no matter how many hours help you need is £120 a week. But at least Mum is having someone in twice a day to do some of the work.Mum and Dad look well so I'm sure it's helping Mum even if she doesn't think she needs the help.
Evening Deanna, Carole and everyone else come to that.
Carole, will your dad have to pay that (high) amount back himself, or you?
Found out today that the clocks go BACK not forward...ugh....
We had a really nice after all, didn't expect it to work out so well, after the, wait for it, rather bad journey to Amsterdam, this time by car.There were no trains running between two main cities on the route, so the roads were even more chaotic, plus road works nearly all the way there...def. a jinx on my shoulder.lol.
Could anyone please tell me why I can't access 'My Threads' anymore, just get a one page list of names...must have missed any news from GR about changing things again?
Right, some hay needs bashing,can't be bothered to change all the clocks, video, car clock, watch. etc...bet I forget, in spite of the big notice I am sticking on this p.c...lol
Hope you all sleep well tonight.
Was going to bed, but had to check something on GR, and only now notice that GR has made a very strange mistake.I have no idea how to change this.Had noticed for a couple of days that when I log onto GR, it says 'Hi Sheila', didn't think anything of it, doh! But then I saw 3 so-called rellies names with whom I have 'had contact'...clicked on one name, it turns out to be my old school friend Sheila's number etc.so I checked here to see if Claddagh or Sheila appeared...guess what? Noticed that when I added to one thread earlier (only checked this now too) that it says Sheila...how wierd is that? Does anyone know how this could happen and how I can get it sorted a.s.a.p please?
Am really going to bed now. x EILEEN/CLADDAGH, not sheila.
Good night everyone. We managed a great deal of work in the kitchen this evening.....now I am off to bed to 'die'.... ;-0)
We had nowhere to pack it all so we put it back in the cupboard and we will get some boxes tomorrow. How will we manage with NO KITCHEN?? Ah well, we will just have to keep reminding ourselves that .... it will be lovely when it is finished.
So, I and my weary body and my dead brain are off to bed. Have a good night all of you and perhaps tomorrow I will be able to read all your messages. love and hugs to all, Deanna XXXXX
