Good day all, it's really cold here and we need to do more in the garden for the winter, carrots and beets to dig up, tomato plants to pull (didn't get many tomatoes but discovered why the crop was so small, our ancient corgi loves tomatoes apparently and came in with her head and back covered in tomato bits and juice). She's looking so much healthier these days so we may have her a bit longer.
I've had a migraine headache all day but helping miniMary with her bags, getting some stock ready for a craft sale on the 24th. Rather be asleep LOL.
Despite being functional I am feeling down,, just tired I suppose, Cathkin you sound like I feel, sending you a hug.
Back to work, daylight will be gone soon, it's very dreary.

Good night everyone.
Mary.... take a break, that is an order.
You cannot go on forever with a Migraine, I know from experience.
I have Temporal Arteritis.
Love to all,

Deanna I've had a sleep, allmost 2 hours sound sleep, till Megan woke me up to say Gareth wouldn't get off the trampoline, actually quite funny but I didn't dare laugh - he can hardly walk, his inner legs are so chapped from the cold, he was wearing bare feet, a t-shirt and shorts!! the warm clothing he went outside in was spread round the garden. Useful.
Cathkin, I feel better after a nap, please join me . . . hope tomorrow will break brightly for you.
Hugs
Mary
PS,, guess what happens when you pick up a 10lb bag of onions from the bottom - I asked Sarah to get an onion (to make curry beed for supper,) she picked up the bag and is now crawling round the kitchen floor picking up about 40 onions, she loves to cut veggies for me, she's usually quite safe and it keeps her out of other things lol. Going offline now, Good night.

Hello Mary, hope you slept well and that the headache has gone. It was not quite laugh out loud, but I loved your deadpan story of Gareth on the trampoline. I have a series of three photos of my nieces on the trampoline (about 3 and 2- now 26 and 25!!!). In the first one, older miss is in singlet and shorts. In number two, only younger miss is on the trampoline 'cos older sister is inside with mum. In the third she is back, in flannelette shirt and track pants. Much more appropriate for the weather at the time, but I reckon kids don't feel the cold. I know that as a kid I didn't.
Hello Cathkin, I don't think we have spoken before. Hoping things are looking up. As a depressive myself, I don't know which is worse- feeling down but knowing why, or feeling down and NOT knowing why.
Liz, this may sound like a dumb question, but I have never seen one- just how big or small is a hedgehog? And do they really like cheese?
I know that a porcupine is quite a different beast, but how big are they? These are questions that nature programs on TV never seem to tell you.
I am sorry about grumblebum. Perhaps he was more charming when he was younger.
PS. I have just discovered the wonders of Google Chrome! Not only does the screen not jump around when I reach the bottom of the Reply panel, but it has a built in spell check so I need no longer miss all the theh's, taht's and other typos I make. Now that is LOL.
xx to all, Colin

PS TheAncientMariner, are you the lady formerly known as treehunter, or someone else with the same name? Just curious.
Ben, did you go to the quack? just checking up on you. :-)

The Ancientmariner is aka Lancashire Witch who is the lovely Hazel. We have two lovely Hazel's on here Treehunter being the other one.
Mary, loved the story about Gareth on the trampoline, P is the same trying to teach him that it is not appropriate for a big boy like him to be on the tramploine naked plus it is to cold!!!
Right off to my bed now, Gail hope you have a lovely week with your family
Hope everyone else is keeping ok

Sorry all I am really tired altho I haven't done much today, am going to make a doctor's apptmt as I can't understand why I feel so bad here yet was able to get up and walk round the village and to the next village etc in Corfu with no problem. As soon as I got back here I felt drained and exhausted again, and can barely function. it's ridiculous.

take care

Mea Culpa for not posting for such a long time. It is soooo difficult to post when you feel bad. Many find it better to let it all out,I did try this for a time, but cannot seem to do so now.
Feelings of blind panic tend to overtake your life, don't they?
Am dreading making the journey to Amsterdam tomorrow, for instance, wondering what will go wrong this time with trains & trams.Sounds trivial, but, when you are not feeling too good, both in mind and body, it tends to overwhelm...
Last time I went there, was a couple of weeks ago, to celebrate a g.son's birthday, but then my ex. asked me if we could go together, which was just as well, because, the journey back was really awful. We left there at 14.20 and arrived back at my house at 18.55!!! Of course there were unexpected troubles with train signals etc. but, even so...luckyilly it wasn't late at night, like one time some years back. That was scarey, to say the least.

Lots of things have happend lately, not very good things, i'm sorry to say.

Anyway, enough of this grumbling, so many have truly dreadful things happening to them, it is humbling to read about this....

Haven't been reading the posts at all, sorry, so don't know what is going on in all your lives, but wish all of you a pain-free and stress-free life.

There is no mystery to that Liz.... on holiday you were free, happy and relaxed.
Now that you are home love..... all the worries hang around to upset you.
Chin up and keep happy, don't let the *Bar Stewards* get you down!! ;-0)

Eileen, you sound Agoraphobic to me.
Are you?
I have been since my son was 10 months old.... he is 38 next month.
The most terrifying state to be in, although you often can overcome it for a special event..... but it takes a lot of work and courage.
Just keep trying love, even if you fail.. you will manage a bit of success.
God bless Eileen, I do know what you are suffering. If I sound a bite trite, it is because I cannot really explain the problem properly.
Lots of love

Have just 'sent' a reply to your message Deanna, but don't know where it went to...

Never mind. Just wanted to say it is def. NOT agrophobia, wish it was !Having said that, I am not knocking this awful condition....I just know things are as they are, for several reasons, which I cannot tell anyone at all.
When I first posted on this wonderful thread, I received lots of support from a group of you, with whom I still maintain contact via p.m's and e-mails.I am very grateful for this, feel privilaged that they still bother...I just wish I could open up on this tread more.....

So much has happened since my last posting, I honestly don't want to explain....it is far too complicated and depressing, so will just say I am trying to get to grips with life, as far as possible...

Take care everyone and be happy.

Eileen, never feel that you HAVE to explain your feelings but if you ever want to you know where I am. Sometimes it does help. Sorry that you are still not on the 'up' and I hope that your spirits will soon improve in some way.

Myself and the Kray Twins share two common ancestors who wed in 1774. Samuel Auber and Elizabeth Newman. Their son John is my 5xgreat grandfather and his sister Mary was their ggggrandmother.

Hi all,

Ben, you have to read some of the books about them then or would they upset you? They were quite tough blokes but linked to all sorts of people.

Deanna, yes I am sure that is part of it, wasn't so much pressure on holiday altho still wasn't as free as I would have liked to 'do my thing' but then he was paying so had to go along with what he wanted to do most of the time. He is already saying why haven't you done this or that, and we have only been home a week. I am going to be meeting up with more friends this next few weeks, that I had lost touch with so that will be good and also going to see the couple we met on holiday, not sure if he will want to come with me. I have also had some tickets reserved for us to go An Audience with Gordon Smith (Scottish barber/medium) in November, us being the couple we met, a friend off these boards and me, o.h. is not into spiritualism, but we four are so will be an interesting evening.
I just spoke to a woman who is running a Hedgehog rescue service locally and she said I can go round anytime, she has some little hedgehogs just weaned that can't hibernate so she said I could see them if I want to. She is doing an Autumn Fair later this month so I will get some books and things together and take her to sell, and try to go to the Fair too.
She gave me good advice re the hedgehogs that are back in the garden, am going to have to capture them both (the little ones that have been here lately) to weigh them and if they aren't over 600 grams I can take them to her to look after inside for the winter. Now there's a picture for you to imagine, me trying to pick up a hedgehog in an old towel or something and weigh it, in the middle of the night!

Catch you later folks, better get something done lol
love to all and big hugs too

Well Ben...... I thought so ;-0)
Must be very careful when I speak to you now! ha ha ha
were you excited when you found that?
And all I want is to find the death of my VERY ORDINARY G.G.Granddad! Ah well.

I hope you get well soon Eileen, whatever is the problem.
NOW... go find my message you sent me, or I will have Ben come sort you out!! ;-0)

No I have a few books on the Krays and am not squeamish. They were vicious people but that is what made me read their books. I have had an interest in the Krays for nearly 10 years and never knew that I would find out I am a distant cousin. When Reggie was dying I wanted to write to him but my mum said "Dont write to him. He was a thug". Yes but he was also her 6th cousin twice removed. My mums mum and the Krays mum were 5th cousins.

Thank you Claire, Ann, Deanna & Liz, it is very kind of you all to bother try to cheer me up.

Wish I could explain why things are as they are, but I can't.

Am going to try get an early night so as to be up at the crack of dawn, allowing enough time for loo visits before setting off to Amsterdam. It should only be 2 hours from the station here to Amsterdam Central, last time was a nightmare...nearly 4 and a half hours was a bit extreme. to say the least.

Cannot put it off, because it is my g.son's 10th birthday today, which is a 'crown year' in Holland. He has a half day at school tomorrow, hence the journey.

Thank you all once again for the support.
